STI Testing Incentives Available 💬

STI testing incentives are now available at Medical!

✔️ $20 for non-prenatal testing
✔️ $50 for prenatal testing

Who can get it?
• Maskwacis community members

How it works:
• Come in for STI testing (walk-in or appointment)
• Bring your receipt to Medical
• Receive your incentive

Important:
• Incentives can be claimed once per month (or once per pregnancy)
• Testing can be done as often as needed
• First come, first serve while incentives are available

National Medical Laboratory Week | April 12–18

This week, we’re proud to recognize and celebrate our incredible medical laboratory professionals

Behind every diagnosis, treatment, and recovery there’s a lab team working hard to provide accurate and timely results. From analyzing samples to delivering critical information, they are a vital part of patient care every single day. Their work may happen behind the scenes, but their impact is life-changing.

Darcie has been with MHS for 4.5 years. Darcie started her career with Dynalife labs in Red Deer and has been in the lab field for a total of 10 years. Darcie provides friendly, fast service at out lab site providing lab collection, ECGs and Holter monitor set ups and Point of Care testing.

Erika has been with MHS for 6 years. Erika transitioned from Wetaskiwin Hospital lab where she worked for 15 years. Erika started her career in the lab field in 2005, totaling 21 years of lab experience. Erika has taken on a new role in the last two years she is now the Team lead for the Medical clinic and lab, ensuring good quality health care is provided to the community of Maskwacis.

🚨 Temporary Service Update – Wetaskiwin Hospital 🚨

Due to a shortage of obstetrical providers, there will be temporary pauses to obstetric services at Wetaskiwin Hospital and Care Centre on the following dates:

🗓️ April 18 | ⏰ 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
🗓️ April 20 (8:00 AM) – April 23 (8:00 AM)
🗓️ April 27 (8:00 AM) – April 29 (8:00 AM)
🗓️ April 30 (8:00 AM) – May 1 (8:00 AM)

➡️ During these times, all obstetrical patients will be assessed on Unit 45 and safely redirected to nearby facilities if needed.
