Honoring the cycles. 🌕 Charging sterilized water used under the light of yukhisotha ’ (Grandmother Moon)—some say a traditional others say contemporary Haudenosaunee practice. all water including ourselves is charged by the moon many times throughout cycles and I appreciate taking time to bring medicine and intention into every line I ink. Grateful for her guidance. ✨

Was asked to do a Thunderbird hand poke and skin stitch tattoo. Often I have to clarify which style would be appropriate & preferred, as different nations depict Thunderbirds uniquely. Sometimes the differences are so subtle. She gave me creative freedom to choose the from Thunderbirds a part of her nations visual language.

Traditional Roots, Modern Tools.

Beyond thrilled to announce my acceptance into a private tattooing and piercing course! This feels like the perfect step for the next phase of my journey.

Nine years ago, I started my training and mentoring with the Earthline Tattoo Collective, learning about history & the impact of colonization on our Indigenous tattooing practices, traditional methods, and protocols together and through our own lenses—a foundation I cherish and carry in every piece.

I was gifted tattoo pen and my dream machine. They have been sitting ready, waiting, admittedly I have always had tendency to get pulled in multiple directions and have been a little intimidated to make the jump to machine work. Now is that time!

beyond excited to finally dedicate myself to mastering machine tattooing and piercing through this program. Once I’m comfortable and confident in these new techniques, my next goal is to dive into the intricate world of cosmetic tattooing. For everyone requesting those services.

grateful for the chance to join the loom making workshop with the Stó:lō Women’s - Thélá:ylexw awtxw and Keith. He was there to help my sons get out on the water canoeing for the first time when they were very young - which is very meaningful to our family. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was able to work on a few looms for other people.

I really missed woodshop and the longhouse. I truly enjoy learning together in places that resonate with our cultures. We had the chance to make looms and do woodworking, but more than that, it was about sharing and learning from each other’s perspectives and experiences in such a natural and friendly way. yaw^ko
