Today is International Women’s Day 🌸✊
As therapists, this day matters deeply to us — because so much of what we see in therapy is shaped by the social, cultural, and political realities women live within.
Feminist therapy reminds us that distress is not just individual — it is relational and systemic. Many of the struggles women carry are not personal failures, but understandable responses to unequal expectations, invisible labour, gender roles, trauma, and power imbalances that still exist in our world.
In our work we see the weight women carry:
✨ caring for others while neglecting themselves
✨ navigating workplaces that were not built with them in mind
✨ surviving violence, discrimination, and silencing
✨ feeling pressure to be everything for everyone
And we also see something incredible: resilience, wisdom, and growth.
Therapy can be a place where women reconnect with their voices, challenge internalized messages about worth and responsibility, and reclaim their stories. Feminist approaches to therapy encourage collaboration, empowerment, and the understanding that the personal is political.
We are continually inspired by the women we work with — clients, colleagues, mentors, friends, and family — who show extraordinary courage in their healing.
Today we celebrate women’s strength, advocate for equity, and honour the ongoing work toward a world where every woman can live safely, authentically, and with full access to opportunity and care.
Happy International Women’s Day 💜
