Our fast-paced, high-stress world has created a culture that is focused on convenience and speed and that includes how we eat. As a holistic nutrition consultant I believe in slowing it down, keeping it simple and getting back to basics. With the epidemic rise in obesity and degenerative diseases, the link between what goes into your mouth and your health is undeniable. Many are turning to holistic nutrition as a way to not only feed their bodies and prevent disease but as a way to eat their way back to health. Holistic nutrition is all about eating healthy foods that are as close to their natural state as possible for maximum health and well being. Key words you will hear from me include unrefined, unprocessed, organic and locally grown whole foods. My approach hinges on the belief that the human body is self-healing and when given the right elements, will always strive for balance and health. My job is to inspire and teach you to love the foods that will love you back.

To help with this process, I created something called THE CRAVING TOOL.

Here’s the basic idea:

1️⃣ Notice when a craving appears

2️⃣ If you decide to indulge, go ahead - but pay attention

3️⃣ Eat exactly what you normally would, but do it mindfully

Then pay attention to:

✅ WHY you want the food (hunger, boredom, emotions, reward, stress…)
✅WHAT you're about to eat (ingredients, smell, appearance)
✅HOW you're eating (scrolling, driving, watching TV, standing at the counter…)
✅EACH BITE - the taste, texture, smell, temperature

The more a food is refined or tinkered-with, the more likely it is to work against your body and contribute to inflammation.

2️⃣ Stop fearing fat - start choosing better fats
Healthy fats help with satiety, hormones, brain health, and inflammation.

3️⃣ Watch your inner dialogue
Critical self-talk and perfectionism activate stress in the body, which can keep you stuck in the patterns you’re trying to move away from.
