Wrap up wellness this holiday season! Instead of bringing a bottle of wine to the holiday event, consider bringing a bottle of elderberry or other health promoting gift like Fire Cider, Kombucha, Ginger Shots, etc. Let's start new traditions that promote care and inclusivity.

This past weekends Christkindl Market in the was an absolutely amazing end to a great holiday market season. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported me at markets across Southern Ontario this past month. With snow blanketing the forest and -25C last night winter feels like it's really here and I'm looking forward to moving at a different pace. We'll continue to ship online orders and our local retailers like the .healthstore.muskoka and spots like will be loaded up by the end of the week for your in person shopping needs. From the bottom of my heart thank you so much!

A moment of peace for your feed. Winter has arrived in Muskoka. Though the next few weeks are still filled with the "holiday rush" this peaceful landscape reminds me the time of deep rest and reflection is just about here.

It's Wild Fire season! Fire Cider is a traditional herbal tonic created (and popularized) by Rosemary Gladstar, a well-known herbalist, in the late 1970s. It’s a spicy, tangy, immune-boosting vinegar infusion made from common kitchen ingredients and herbs.

Support the immune system. Warm the body and stimulate circulation. Help fight colds, flu, and sinus congestion. Aid digestion and metabolism. Great added to salad dressings, marinades, soups, or drinks. The perfect example of a kitchen pantry staple being used for all that ails you!

Have you ever made Fire Cider?

As the leaves now fall for the season and the plants and fungi prepare for their long rest, classes are wrapped for the 2025 year. I want to take a moment and thank every student who came to programs this year from half day intro classes to my in depth Wild Medicine and Fungi As Kin groups. I hope the classes inspired in your a deeper connection with the natural world and the drive to take the teaching into your everyday lives. I'll be back teaching next year with perhaps a few winter programs. Stay tuned in early 2026 for our course calendar. If you want to gift an experience this coming holiday season I offer VIP Class tickets that guarantee space and enhanced flexibility for 2026 programs.

Some fun snapshots from my Introduction to Mushroom Foraging and Fungi As Kin Mushroom Intensive program the last month. Even though it has been dry, there are still mushrooms in the woods to be found. One highlight for me was making jelly candy from Wood Ear mushrooms and Beech Disc jelly mushrooms. With the Late Fall, Oysters and Blewit mushrooms now showing themselves it is officially the end of the mushroom season. Get out there while you can and explore the fun Fungi while you can and if you want to learn more about wild mushrooms come take a class with me next year!
