You might recognize Nathan Cory from our Ilderton and Komoka locations — he’s been right in the action this season as the EPIC Sports Hockey Academy Trainer alongside Doug Stacey, keeping our athletes healthy, prepared, and ready to perform at their best. From taping ankles and managing injuries to filling water bottles and putting in long hours on the road, our staff does whatever it takes to help the team succeed.

At EPIC, Hunter plays a key role in supporting clients through return-to-sport and active lifestyle goals. Known for building strong relationships and delivering thoughtful care, she’s passionate about guiding individuals through every stage of the recovery process.

Hunter holds a Bachelor of Science Honours in Kinesiology from Queen’s University, where she completed a varsity strength and conditioning internship and discovered her passion for return-to-play and recreational rehab.

Since joining EPIC, Hunter has focused on building meaningful client relationships and supporting their recovery and performance goals. She believes in the power of face-to-face connection and encourages others to take the time to network and build relationships wherever they go. Her most EPIC memory so far is “a tie between opening the Komoka clinic and bringing the trainers to experience a spin class. Both moments brought out the best of our team’s culture and sense of community.”

EPIC Physio Tip of the Week: The Importance of Hydration 💧

Hydration is one of the simplest, yet most overlooked pillars of athletic performance. It’s more than just drinking water when you’re thirsty. It’s about consistently fueling your body to perform, recover, and stay protected from injury. Proper hydration helps prevent setbacks like cramping, fatigue, and decreases in performance.

Whether you’re an elite athlete or just trying to stay active, how you hydrate matters. Dehydration can reduce soft tissue function and impair joint lubrication. It also increases your risk of overuse injuries, especially during intense or prolonged activity when your body is most vulnerable.

Hydrate early. Hydrate often.

We’re excited to announce that we’ve welcomed Blair Hennessey, Registered Physiotherapist (MPT, CSCS) to the EPIC Sports Physio team!

Blair is a sports physiotherapist with a passion for high-performance rehabilitation, athlete development, and objective data-driven care. A graduate of the Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) program at Western University, Blair brings a unique blend of clinical skill and athletic experience.

With over 9 years of service as an Infantryman in the Canadian Forces and a lifelong background in competitive hockey, soccer, and endurance sports, Blair understands the physical and mental demands placed on athletes. He combines a profound emphasis on exercise-based therapy with therapeutic techniques like Functional Dry Needling, joint mobilization, and soft-tissue release to guide recovery and performance.

Blair is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Sports First Responder, currently serving as Head Physical Therapist and Sports Scientist for the Sarnia Sting of the OHL. He has extensive experience with musculoskeletal injuries, post-operative rehab, and return-to-sport planning across all levels of competition. Through his work with elite, varsity and professional teams, he prioritizes athlete education, injury prevention, and individualized care.

We’re thrilled to welcome Nathan Cory to as our new Physiotherapist! Get to know Nathan below 👇🏽 and book an appointment with him today through the link below!

An experienced physiotherapist of four years, Nathan is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario (2020) whose interest in working with athletes began while obtaining his Athletic Training and Health Science degrees from Castleton University in Vermont. He worked with athletes from various varsity sports while also being a member of the Men’s Ice Hockey program that participated in the NCAA. Having experience as a high performance athlete himself, he understands the ongoing demands of training and competing in sport and has first hand knowledge treating and rehabilitating sport injuries. Nathan continues to be involved in the hockey community by coaching/mentoring within the London Minor Hockey Association today.

He joins us from his managerial and clinical role as a physiotherapist in London and strives to incorporate his knowledge of sport and rehabilitation in order to best aid performance. He has a passion for exercise and manual therapy to improve outcomes and guide client’s recovery to reach their potential and exceed expectations.
