New book on the way in both Digital and Audio. It should be finished sometime next week. It turned out fantastic. I'm super happy with it. For any of my American and UK followers, I will able to give away free access to the audiobook and kindle reader version in exchange for honest reviews.

(I wish I could give access to everyone, it's an amazon limitation, not mine! Sorry!)

The contents of the book include:

1. How Qi actually works in the body —
A clear explanation of Qi through modern science, including mitochondria, fascia, electricity, and breath.

2. The ancient Daoist view of Qi —
How the Dao De Jing describes Qi as the rhythm between Yin–Yang, stillness–movement, and Heaven–Earth.

3. The Five Spirits & emotional health —
Discover how Shen, Hun, Po, Yi, and Zhi shape your mood, focus, intuition, dreams, and resilience.

4. The true relationship between Qi, Blood, and Breath —
Why these three forces form the core of vitality, calm, and clarity — and how you can strengthen them daily.

5. How to build real energy through food, herbs, and practice —
Practical, life-changing guidance on nourishment, tonic herbs, breathwork, stillness, and movement to cultivate lasting vitality.

Stay tuned!

I study meditation and Qigong from all angles using modern scientific research. I don't do this because I think it "needs" to be studied, it's fine as it is. I study it this way to help bring the various practices to a wider audience, and to help understand the effect that it has on our subjective experiences using objective measurements. My hope is that it helps make the beneficial aspects of meditation and Qigong repeatable for average people, across time and location.

Meditation and Qigong don’t just calm the mind—they reorganize the brain.

A new study found that while meditation creates instant inner harmony, Qigong builds it through movement—both leading to deep coherence between body and mind.

Your thoughts?

We're living in a world of more and more information, and less and less meaning?

I think this is going to become far more true as AI comes to dominate the media and online space.

I've been thinking a lot lately about the connection between "Ting" (聽 - listening) and modern scientific concept of Coherence when practicing Qigong.

Coherence is when your mind and heart are sending the same message. It’s not just a feeling of alignment — it’s the moment your nervous system relaxes enough for your brain to become changeable again. Coherence is the gateway to neuroplasticity. It’s how you stop repeating your past and start wiring your future.

🌿🐍 A wise monk once said, “Being bitten by a snake is painful, but chasing it only adds to the hurt.”

Instead of wasting energy on what’s already happened, let’s focus on healing! Remove that poison and move forward. Life’s too short to dwell—let's thrive!

Qigong & Tai Chi for Smarter Learning?

A new 2025 study in Behavioral Sciences found that traditional Chinese mind–body exercises — Tai Chi & Qigong — significantly improved academic performance, attention, and brain connectivity in children with learning difficulties.

Tai Chi stood out most, enhancing focus, inhibitory control, and prefrontal brain communication — key areas for learning and emotional balance. 🧘‍♀️

Ancient movement. Modern neuroscience.
Mind and body, learning as one.

Can ancient wisdom help you breathe easier?
A clinical trial published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that patients with COPD who practiced Health Qigong (Baduanjin) maintained better lung function, walked farther, and felt healthier six months after rehabilitation—while those who didn’t practice began to decline.

Can ancient movement reshape the aging brain?

A new study shows that just 12 weeks of Qigong practice can improve processing speed, sharpen attention, and even grow the hippocampus—the part of the brain tied to memory and learning. Researchers found that these changes were linked to reduced inflammation, revealing a powerful neuro-immune pathway behind Qigong’s effects on the mind.
