Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never made it home, and acknowledge the lasting impact this history continues to have on Indigenous peoples. It is also a time to reflect on the work still needed to support healing and reconciliation across Canada.
As part of this reflection, our paramedics wear orange epaulettes โ a visible reminder of our commitment to listening, learning, and standing in solidarity with Indigenous communities. In EMS, reconciliation extends to the care we provide every day: ensuring continuity of care, building trust, and delivering services that are compassionate and culturally respectful.
We are proud to stand with Indigenous peoples and continue our journey toward understanding, healing, and reconciliation.
