At the Mill Road Social Enterprises, we believe that everyone has the opportunity for achievement. Since 1981,Inverness Cottage Workshop/ the Mill Road Social Enterprises has been supporting adults who have intellectual disabilities and/or mental health needs. Instructors work one-on-one with participants to design programming that is best suited to individual needs and interests.

CASUAL/RELIEF STAFF to support adults with diverse
abilities. This is more than just a job — it’s an opportunity to

No experience? No problem! Be willing to learn, and we’ll
happily provide training.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Support adults with diverse abilities to achieve employment
goals, participate in community life, and enjoy recreational and
volunteer activities.
• Foster inclusion, independence, and meaningful connections.
• Work as part of a collaborative and supportive team that
values creativity and compassion.
• Assist with the day-to-day operations of our Social Enterprises
and fundraising initiatives
WHAT YOU BRING
• Post-secondary education in Human Services or related field
(or willing to train)
• Experience in supporting adults with diverse abilities (an
asset, but not required)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility, reliability, and a positive, respectful attitude
• Basic computer skills (or a willingness to learn)
• Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role and work at
various sites
• A current Criminal Record Check
• A valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License

Come one, come all!!

We're excited to be part of Souper Sunday - a community lunch at Mill Road Social Enterprises in Inverness on Sunday, February 15! It's part of the Cold Hands, Warm Heart winter festival celebrations. Delight & Co. will be making pumpkin soup and chicken and rice soup, and the wonderful rolls from Hometown Bakery will be delicious! Squares for dessert with your tea and coffee.
