Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association

Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association KTRA offers therapeutic riding for children and adults with a wide range of disabilities. https://boogiethebridge.com/volunteer/

KTRA's riding lessons benefits the riders by using the motivating medium of horse care and riding we draw an individual’s attention to their strengths, successes and most importantly build self-esteem. Through horse care and riding we will teach those social and behavior skills necessary to function and succeed in a social world. It is these skills that are vital to self-esteem and ultimately determine the place a person fills in this society.

Unfortunately we have sad news to share about Sandy.

We lost an incredible man yesterday.

For years, he poured himself into KTRA. He loved the horses, believed in the work, and showed his dedication not just in words but in action. Whether it was fixing something that needed repair, sharing his knowledge, or simply offering kindness, he gave freely and without hesitation. You could often find him in his favorite sweatshirt that said “Training Through Treats,” a phrase that perfectly matched his gentle spirit.

He was sweet, generous, and endlessly kind. His loyalty and dedication to KTRA and everyone there will never be forgotten. The barn won’t feel the same without him but his love, laughter, and legacy will live on in every corner. He gave his time, his wisdom, and his whole heart. We will miss him more than words can say.

His absence leaves a huge space, but his impact will remain in every life he touched.

Grateful for our Platinum partners.

We want to send a massive shout-out to Universal Group and Highland Valley Copper / Teck. Their generous support as Platinum Sponsors ensures that Boogie the Bridge remains a highlight for the Kamloops community year after year.

Our event is built on movement, community, and charity—and it’s local leaders like these who help us keep that momentum going.

Thank you for standing with the Sea of Red! ❤️

Calling all young artists in Kamloops.

Every year, the Mini Boogie shirt is designed by a kid in our community, and it’s time to find our artist for 2026. This is a great chance for kids to get creative and see their work worn by hundreds of people on race day.

The winner will receive:

-Their design featured on the official 2026 Mini Boogie T-shirt.
-A free entry into the 2026 Mini Boogie or the main Boogie at the Bridge event.
-Bragging rights as our "Official 2026 Artist."

If you know a young creator who would love to see their work come to life, please let them know. We want to see what "Boogie Spirit" looks like through their eyes.

How to enter:
All entries need to be submitted by March 9, 2026. You can find the details at https://boogiethebridge.com/boogie-shirt-design/mini-boogie-t-shirt-design/

We can’t wait to see what the kids come up with this year.

Year of the Horse 🐎✨

In the Lunar calendar, the Horse symbolizes strength, perseverance, freedom, and forward movement — qualities that deeply reflect the heart of what we do at KTRA.

Every day, our riders demonstrate courage as they try something new. They build confidence stride by stride. They discover independence in the saddle. And our incredible horses meet them with patience, power, and partnership.

The Year of the Horse reminds us that progress isn’t about speed — it’s about steady steps forward. It’s about resilience. It’s about connection. It’s about the bond between horse and rider that makes growth possible.

As we move through this year, we celebrate the strength of our community, the dedication of our volunteers, and the incredible horses who carry more than riders — they carry hope. ❤️

Here’s to a year of momentum, bravery, and meaningful strides ahead.
