I operate on a sliding scale as I would love to see every birthing person have a doula with them no matter their finances. I am also approved as a doula for the Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program. The goal of this program is to increase healthy birth outcomes for Indigenous families by removing the cost barrier to accessing doula services.

🤗Birth will bring up lots of questions.

Questions like:
Can I really handle labor?
What if something goes wrong?
Is my baby ok?

What if we transformed these into a positive mindset.
❤️I am full resourced to work with my body through the waves of labor and breath power into them by saying YES. 👍

❤️I trust my body and my baby to flow with labor safely and supported.

❤️My baby is thriving and happy now and during birth as I welcome them into my loving arms.

Train your mind to focus on what you want instead of what you don’t want or are fearful of. Where your attention goes so does your energy.

I am here to support you through education, consultations and wisdom.

Today I learned something powerful.

In Islamic teachings, breastfeeding is valued so deeply that a nursing mother can be entitled to compensation from the father for nursing their child. 🤱

Not paid by the government.
Not charity.
Not a bonus.

A recognized right and responsibility tied to caring for a baby and supporting the mother who makes that care possible.

That stopped me in my tracks.

Because it says something loud without saying it loudly:
Breastfeeding is not just instinct.
It is not just love.
It is labor. Real work. Life sustaining work.

Some cultures looked at infant feeding and said
This matters enough to build structure around it.
Support around it.
Accountability around it.

Imagine if support was the default instead of something moms have to beg for.
Imagine if nourishing a baby was treated like priceless labor instead of invisible effort.

Food for thought. 🤱
