Sometimes life is simple. And by that I mean that what is important and what matters becomes very clear. I’m not actively coaching right now. And I’m continuing to do what I love to do- learn, share, care, love and grow.
What matters most right now?
My family- my kids and mom and brother and his family and my aunts and their families. My friends who I care about deeply. My chosen family of the RareBirds Housing Co-operative, Kamloops, BC who I now live with as a shareholder in an equity cooperative.
My health- Implementing everything I have learned with a focus right now on building strength so that I can get back out hiking, cycling and being in the water. Clara Shipp Fitness of DIYBODY and Drift and Align Physiotherapy + More and Engage Health and Ahimsa Health- Kayla Ruddock- are getting me there.
Time off to recharge. Weekends to reset. Two weeks on Hornby Island this summer- my go to place for reconnecting with myself, my family, the ocean, the forest and the land. Deep rejuvenation.
And my role as an occupational therapist - frontline healthcare. Coming into that role every day with all of the wisdom that I have garnered from my studies in yoga, meditation, communication, owning a business-every single experience in my life from injuries to caregiving - they all come into play here.
I can’t remember who shared it with me-the idea that you can have it all – you just can’t have it all at once. I learned a similar lesson during my triathlon racing years- focussing on more than three things is challenging. So right now I’m using every organizational tool I know, every thinking tool, and my wisdom for discernment. Keeping it simple in the midst of the complexity.
It’s been along time since I’ve connected with everybody. I’m definitely hearing the call to do some writing. We’ll see how it fits into the simplicity and focus that I appreciate right now. Much love to you all!
