Lifeskills at work πŸ’ͺ This week we were fortunate enough to have a donation of this couch and chair for a survivor. Our very own Dave went and delivered the items and helped take his old ones to the dump (no photo provided as we all know Dave is too dorky sometimes).

Donations like this are great as they help survivors with being comfortable in their own places. Lifeskill workers help identify where donations like this can be used.

KBIA had a very successful day at the RHI Craft-a-Fair. It was great to see so many people stopping buy and chatting with our crafting survivors. Lots of stained glass and beadwork on display and the survivors decided to give 30% of sales back to KBIA!

Big shout out to all those who worked really hard on their crafts for the day πŸ‘

Skully aka batman was ready to help our education coordinator teach week six of our concussion care class last week. Week six was all about learning how to be a little bit more cognitively flexible, which can be difficult post-concussion.

Our eight-week concussion care program is open to people who have suffered a concussion and is a great way to connect with other people with concussions and learn new or old skills you forgot, because we know our memories aren't that great!

Give us a shout for more information or to get into the next class. Did we mention all of our programs are free thanks to donors, contracts, sponsors, and our fundraising efforts!

We don't want to be number 1! The Interior had more distracted driving tickets than anywhere else in the province... I will repeat my offer, buy me lunch instead of paying the $368 fine. We will both be happy!

We can see it all around us: Too many British Columbians are choosing to ignore their seatbelts or use their cell phones while driving. You can see those problems reflected in ticket numbers from September’s Distracted Driving and Occupant Restraint Month. β€œIt’s simple. If we can get less peop...

Kamloops Surgical Centre is so kind to KBIA... from helping out this survivor get his cataract removed, to sponsoring the Gur Singh, they do it all!

Side note... anyone else think Sue should keep that hair look?!

FEEL GOOD STORY! ☺️ The winner of the Annual Family YMCA BC Kamloops Pass from our Gur Singh Raffle donated it back to KBIA for a survivor to use.

Here is a photo of Dave presenting it to the survivor. He will be using it with his two kids!

Big thanks to that supporter... you know who you are! πŸ‘

Over the weekend, KBIA was excited to be invited to Thompson Rivers University - TRU World first-ever Brain Health Coalition (BHC) Research Forum.

This gathering focused on bringing together people working in brain health, mental health, neurodiversity, and brain injury across Kamloops.

It was an amazing opportunity to connect with practitioners, students, community workers, and educators who all share a passion for improving care and understanding in our community.

KBIA is looking forward to continuing these conversations and collaborating on ways to better support brain injury survivors across sectors.
