So I had 2 courses back to back in Vegas. Yes, it was incredibly hot, even for Kamloops standards. On the upside I'll be desensitized to the heat for the rest of the summer.
First course was neural manipulation #5. So in that was a lot of coccyx (tailbone) work, a lot more detail of the nerves around the coccyx, more detail on some of the cranial nerves taught previously.. and lots of other gems.
The second course... omg amazing. I mean, they both were. But this was a whole different level. Brain 1. I wasn't planning in starting the brain curriculum until next summer but the opportunity was there, so why not, right?! I've always been drawn to brain work, and with the amount of post concussion and other brain related patients I've been treating lately it was all the more reason to go for it. Plus I had heard great things about the instructor, and boy that was accurate. My new all time favourite Barral institute instructor is Mark Bloemberg, from Europe. He taught a lot more with optic nerves and tracts, olfactory nerves (smelling), more advanced vascular work to & from the brain, and even a bit of emotional imaging, among many others. It was SO cool to feel the areas of the brain light up while doing functional listening, then treating with either a "compression/stimulation" technique, or a "dissipation/inhibition" in some cases. Can't wait for Brain 2 AND Brain 3 next summer, and I very much look forward to mastering these new brain skills in the meantime.
The Vegas experience.. was an experience haha. It was enough Vegas for me for probably the rest of my life. You could sure tell who was there for the courses and who was there for the party! We stood out like sore thumbs for sure.
