Foot Care is an essential part of preventative health care, just as important as blood pressure screening and yearly checkups. As a foot care nurse and professor at Algonquin College, it is my passion to share the most up to date practices. It’s a thought process and skill set that goes beyond the information available and the science of nursing, to the art of healing. Meet with a Soft Soles Nurse

to share some laughter, gain some information and invest in your health. We go beyond the the various nursing tasks that are required by our clients. We take a holistic approach to the care we provide:

* Starting by matching nurses to clients where we see a natural personality fit in an effort to plant the seed for a nurturing, nurse/patient relationship to develop

* We avoid switching nurses when scheduling to provide excellent continuity of care & to allow for that relationship to grow

* We look at the whole picture in terms of who is involved in the care of our clients and coordinate available resources

* Our goal is to help you to remain independent. When appropriate, we will teach you, or a family member, how to perform simple foot care procedures.

* During appointments, we are always watching for signs of other care needs and offering resources to support those needs

* Our vision is to provide teaching and information at every opportunity, supporting your health care plan the way you want it

* Patient & family advocacy, compassionate care, and knowledge/education sharing are cornerstones of our philosophy

* We provide excellent client follow up

Join 100's of nurses trained in advanced and diabetic foot care who meet the best practice standards.

We provide a tactile and involved learning experience. Students work 1-1 with patients and their mentor learning the fundamentals of advanced diabetic foot care.

This program is developed in association with Foot Canada Training and it follows a peer reviewed standardized curriculum based on the Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses Competencies.
