"I was tired of wearing glasses and had really dry eyes with my contacts. It has bothered me a lot for the last 2 years. I went to see my optometrist to gather information on laser eye surgery, visited the Vivid website and read the Google reviews. I think your eyes are so delicate and vulnerable. "I needed new glasses and contacts and thought laser eye surgery was so affordable there was no reason not to take care of my poor vision once and for all. I wanted to get the procedure done locally and Vivid had the best reviews. The only thing that held me back was time off work to get the procedure complete. I had PRK and it really wasn’t bad at all. I was fully healed in 3 weeks, and after a week could go back to my regular routine with only a few limitations. Freedom from glasses and contacts is amazing. I’m still looking for my glasses when I wake up, then have a big smile when I realize I don’t need them anymore. What a way to start every day!! Just do it. Only regret is I didn’t do it sooner. "My brother called me up and told me about his laser eye surgery. Said it was the easiest thing he’s ever done. I hadn’t considered it until then. I checked out Vivid’s reviews on Google and talked to a few others and decided to make an appointment for a consult with them. Eye surgery wasn’t as scary as I thought it was. I felt pretty calm, and the numbing drops really helps with the anxiety of being still. I am less frustrated by foggy, dirty glasses, and my favourite thing is taking off my sunglasses when I walk into a building and not have to fumble around for my other glasses just to look around! "I figured that the sooner I got laser eye surgery the less I’d have to worry about glasses and all that hassle. I was worried about possible complications, but honestly, I didn’t think too much about it and just did it. It was an amazing decision and had fantastic results! I don’t have to worry about losing or breaking my glasses anymore, and I can wear any sunglasses or eye protection without a second thought. It’s so much easier now. You might as well! "I didn’t like the idea of being completely reliant on my glasses. Without them, I couldn’t drive and could barely read. I was annoyed not knowing if I was picking up shampoo or body wash in the shower, and during physical activity, my sweat would always slide my glasses down. I wanted to wait for laser eye surgery until my prescription was somewhat stable and give me time to save up. My optometrist recommended Vivid if I ever wanted LASIK, and I loved that it was close by so I didn’t have to drive to Vancouver. I can go ziplining without worrying about my helmet bumping my glasses, or go to the hot springs and actually see the clock. If you’re on the fence, just know that they play music you like during surgery, I picked Avril Lavigne. The only downside is that the surgery isn’t long enough to get through three full songs! 🤣 The communication with the Vivid team was phenomenal. Alicia was so quick to respond to every single question I had, and I had a LOT. She was very patient and understanding, even when my questions felt silly in hindsight.
