2016 truly feels like a lifetime ago.

It was my first introduction to the beautiful Okanagan, which I’m now so privileged to call home.

It also marked the beginning of my final year of Optometry at the University of Waterloo—bittersweet, as I was more than ready to begin my lifelong dream career, yet it was so hard to say goodbye to so many friends.

These photos remind me just how far I’ve come and fill me with gratitude for the beautiful souls I’ve met along the way.

We have so much to give thanks for this year!

First, we are so grateful to all of you because you have made Visionology a reality. You booked in for exams, found that perfect pair of glasses, chose us for contact lens and dry eye needs and then you told your circle of people about us.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

Next, my gratitude for Riley is immeasurable. She is the other half of what has made Visionology a reality over the last year. With her warm smile that you can hear through the phone and her kind character she ensures to leave people better than she found them!

At almost a year into this journey, we can say it’s been worth it and we’re looking forward to what is to come.

Hello friends! 🤓

With Visionology’s first anniversary approaching, I thought now would be a good time to reintroduce myself!

I’m Nancy - the owner and optometrist of Visionology who loves living in ! I left Ontario for the sunny Okanagan eight years ago with a shiny new Doctor of Optometry Degree from in hand!

I’ve wanted to be an eye doc since my first pair of glasses at age five. In my teens I wore contact lenses and eventually got LASIK in my early twenties. Having experienced all of these modalities helps me relate to my clients well.

A few more get to know me facts:
1️⃣ I am a Mexican 🇲🇽 born German 🇩🇪 who immigrated to Canada 🇨🇦 in 1995 and will be forever grateful to call Canada home
2️⃣ I love to move and be in community so many Mondays you’ll find me at Never Miss a Monday Run Club 🏃🏻‍♀️ with and Thursdays I cycle with 🚲
3. I am married to my best friend and fellow owner, who co-owns . I am a stepmom to the sweetest 10 year old kiddo Beau as well a fur mum to Hugo, both of whom have made appearances on our feed 😉
4️⃣ Visionology has been a dream since I was a teen working in my hometown optometry clinic . It came to life with a series of doors opening at the right time and friends coming alongside to help! Big gratitude for & for creating a warm and welcoming office space 💚
5️⃣ I believe in the power of education & following intuition 🖤
