Movement for Strength: In yoga, strength is often built through isometric and eccentric muscle contractions during poses (asanas), leading to endurance and resilience without using external weights. We can play with our yoga asanas to create slow, controlled movements that recruit stabilizing muscles, improve tendon and joint resilience and develop functional strength that translates directly to better posture and injury prevention in daily life. Building on a more traditional yoga pose, this movement approach fosters balanced strength, core stability, and neuromuscular control, making practitioners noticeably stronger over time even though the movement might feel unconventional. Join our Monday and Friday movement for strength classes to build heat, adaptability and body awareness.

After the Sound Bath, we invite you to join our Sharing Circle, a sacred space where hearts connect and spirits unite. Share your experiences and insights in a circle of unconditional love and support. Together, we will hold each otherโ€™s stories, creating a tapestry of shared wisdom and compassion. This gathering rekindles the ancient tradition of communal support, akin to gathering around the sacred fire, sharing nourishment, and opening our hearts to one another.

In this video our teacher, Diane, demonstrates square breathing. Similar to Sama Vritti Pranayama, also known as equal breathing, this simple yogic breathing technique where inhalation and exhalation are performed for the same duration accompanied by a breath hold of the same length. Typically counted in sets of four to six beats each, the goal is to maintain a steady rhythm. Regular practice enhances mental clarity, improves focus, and supports better emotional regulation. A great practice for a good nightโ€™s sleep.

How we move into asanas is just as important as the asana itself. In this video, Diane guides us through the important steps to establish a strong foundation for Vrksasana or Tree Pose. Establishing your focus, engaging your core and finding your centre will help you with your balance on the mat and in life.

Softening the body by noticing tension and mindfully relaxing resistance, or as Tyler says 'getting loose', helps the nervous system shift from a fight-or-flight state to a calmer, parasympathetic state, promoting relaxation.

As the body relaxes, the mind follows, reducing mental chatter and fostering a sense of calm and clarity. Techniques like yoga or meditation amplify this effect by integrating body awareness with mindful breathing
