A few reasons my weight loss finally stuck…

1️⃣ I was ready and I wanted it bad. I was so beyond frustrated being uncomfortable in my body. I wanted to feel good in my clothes. I wanted to like the photos I saw of myself. I wanted to feel good about how I was prioritizing my health. Side note: this is the number one characteristic I see in my clients who succeed in my program. You have to be ready to make the change and you have to really want it.

2️⃣ I tracked my habits. I read the book Atomic Habits and then became relentless at tracking my non-negotiable daily habits. This is what allowed me to lose 25lbs without tracking calories or macros. I learned that to be successful at this long-term, I needed to see how my daily behaviours were either contributing or hindering my success.

3️⃣ I ditched the all-or-nothing behaviours. My old approach to weight loss was giving up everything I loved for a period of time until I lost the weight. But it always backfired because it’s not realistic to do that long-term. Being “perfect” doesn’t allow you to build the skill of moderation, which is really important if you want to keep the weight off.

4️⃣ I didn’t do things I hated to make it happen. I didn’t give up drinking. I didn’t do exercise I didn’t like. I didn’t eat boring foods I didn’t want. I didn’t make myself do hours of cardio or running. And I stopped making carbs the enemy.

IDK about you, but I wasn’t about to live my entire life eating healthy and exercising to still just be overweight and uncomfortable.

I’m so proud of her.

I’m proud that she got started (again!)

I’m proud that she picked herself back up, over and over and over again when she slipped back into old patterns.

I’m proud that she finally stopped swearing off everything she loved until she “arrived”.

I’m proud that she stopped doing punishing workouts she dreaded.

I’m proud she kept going even when the progress felt slow.

I’m proud she didn’t skip one special occasion in the pursuit of a number on the scale.

I’m proud she allowed herself to be uncomfortable in the process over and over and over again.

And I’m so proud of who she became along the way.

I can honestly say, that I feel better in my body than I ever have in my entire life. And no, it’s not just about some stupid number on the scale.

Sleep, energy, mood, mindset, appetite, craving control, confidence… all of it.

It feels incredible.

Plus, I’ve learned that your body will constantly give you little reminders of how good it feels to feel good.

Like effortlessly slipping on whatever outfit you want.

Liking the photos you see of yourself.

Trusting yourself around food.

Waking up feeling rested, energized and refreshed.

It’s large, Marg.

But my success certainly wasn’t luck. Or good genetics 😂

It came from years and years of trial and error. Tons of mistakes, tons of lessons and a ton of failed attempts.

But now?

I have the process so dialled in, that it’s not only making me feel the best I ever have, it’s giving my clients the exact same results.

Stop putting yourself through the mental battlefield of wanting to lose weight and not being able to make it happen for good.

All the effort, all the work, all the healthy meals just to lose a few pounds and then gain it all back in a few months anyway.
