Here are 3 tips to help you shift your mindset past the roadblocks that prevent you from losing weight.​​​​​​​​

⏩Remember that your self-talk is usually just beliefs not facts. Example: I will never lose weight. This is not a fact but just something you believe.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
⏩Change the self-talk to a more positive variation. Example: I will never lose weight. Losing weight has felt difficult but I never had proper support and was unable to stick consistently to the program and there is a good chance that if I am consistent that will change.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
⏩Focus on what little changes you can do even when motivation is low. Example: meal planning for a week may be challenging when motivation is low but looking up a new recipe you would still be able to do. ​​​​​​​​

10 years ago, I remember wanting to give up. ​​​​​​​​
I was a single mom, living in a basement suite with maybe $100 to my name. ​​​​​​​​

At that moment I told myself that no one has the ability to change my life except me. I booked an appointment and got the tattoo Keep Moving Forward between my shoulder blades.​​​​​​​​

I realized that I could allow myself to crumble or keep moving forward. I started to believe that I had the ability to make changes.​​​​​​​​

Once you believe you can, you can too! I know what it is like to be hard on yourself, lack motivation, be engulfed in stress, or feel guilty for self-care & taking care of your health. Lack of sleep will make it difficult to lose weight. It messes up our hormones and will cause a hormonal imbalance that interferes with weight loss.​​​​​​​​

This is why we must address sleep issues when we are looking to lose weight. If we have low melatonin, high cortisol, low serotonin & dopamine, not only are we not motivated to get anything done but our body just doesn’t have the right hormonal balance to help you get there. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Lack of sleep makes you want to comfort yourself with food, usually high in fats or sugars. Which in turn gives you a crash, and you want to sit because you are so tired. This leads to lack of meal planning, exercise, fresh air, and you get stuck in this negative loop cycle. Making it feel like you are just barely making it by day by day.​​​​​​​​

My Story

About Me:

Hi I’m Jessica Levy founder of Body Connection Fitness. I’m a passionate and busy mom with a love of helping women. Mother of boy who is growing up way too fast, partner to such a caring man & trainer to many women across the Okanagan. I enjoy wine on weekends, and lots of family time. I am a huge fan of summer and love the heat. My goal is to help women by educating, motivating and provide programs that meet the health & fitness needs.

At Body Connection Fitness I specialize in womens health in person and online. I cater to personal training in my private studio as well as coming to your home for a personalized fitness experience.
