BIG WHITE COMMUNITY YOGA

I am so happy to announce that I’m partnering with the Big White Community Development Association to offer 1 hour weekly classes for our amazing community.
(You deserve it sweetie!🥰)

Starting February 4

📆 6pm-7pm Every Wednesday until March 21
📍 Big White School
💰 7$ per class

These classes are subsidized by BWMCDA, so signing up to be an associating member is required
👉🏼 Becoming a member is FREE and ANYONE can join (so easy).
👉🏼 If you register for the yoga class and are not a member, the association will reach out by email
👉🏼 You need to register for class to attend (and save your spot) and pay 7$
👉🏼Use the link in my bio to find the registration link with all the details (including association membership info)

▫️Please note that class registration opens 1 week out and closes 2 hours before the class start time.

It’s called internal oleation, babe. Look it up!

Ghee (clarified butter) is not just a staple, but a very important food in Ayurveda that is used in many ways.

It is warming, increases digestion, and amplifies the potency of the herbs that it is cooked with. It is used not only for flavour and texture, but also as an Anupana - which is the method of ingesting a medicine (the vehicle for the medicine). Because of the way it’s prepared, ghee is often suitable even for people who have dairy allergies.

🍃 🪴 💆🏻‍♀️
Traditionally, Abhyanga is performed by two practitioners- allowing for 4 hands to work on the patient.
The technique varies greatly based on the state of the person receiving the treatment (what oils & herbs are used, the hand motions, pressure applied, etc.)

At home, “self Abhyanga” is an easy way to get the benefits from the practice.

The heart - “Hridaya” in Sanskrit, is the home of:

▫️Consciousness
▫️Emotions
▫️& Inner Knowing

It is from this area that life emanates!

The expression “following your heart” makes so much sense in this context.

It’s the physiological bridge to our intuition and awareness. And the more you listen, the more it speaks to you.

🫀I’ve recently made an effort to shift away from what my mind thinks I *should* be doing & I’ve been saying yes to anything that makes my heart sing.

It led me to last weekend. 🪩
My heart feels open, and I feel a sense of freedom & permission to be exactly who I am. (IMO this is a combination of listening to my heart & experiencing a music festival in a mindful way)

I will continue to live this way until further notice.

Mourning this space already 🥲

I’ve had to make some changes to my space today so I decided to record my practice for old times sake.

It does make me a bit sad to lose this specific part of my home for my asana practice (the sunlight specifically), but there is so much *potential* for the space I’m creating - and that’s exciting 😌.

Stay grounded, stay present, stay kind.
This is the real practice that will change you from the inside out. It’s a lot harder to exercise when you are in real-life scenarios (where you can get triggered / like Music Festivals!) But that is also the practice - maintaining effort, diligence, and patience in the presence of the people you love is an act of compassion. 👯‍♀️
