Self-compassion isn’t about letting things slide, or being “lazy”, it’s about offering yourself some understanding and care.

Self kindness, mindfulness (awareness of your body and surroundings), and common humanity = self compassion ♥️

Slowing down, taking a deep breath, noticing what is actually around you. These are the moments that keep us connected to ourselves and those around us.

The movement & hustle have their place (and they are important!), while knowing that we can return to our own sense of calm. Find that home base, your slow down mode…embrace it.

Let’s also note that the idea of slowing down can feel uncomfortable and scary. Many of us have had to hold onto the “hustle” just to feel safe, so the idea of letting this go is against our natural instinct. So, start slow. Be kind to yourself, notice the resistance, remind yourself that you are safe ♥️
