Community Living North Grenville

Community Living North Grenville CLNG supports individuals with intellectual disabilities throughout the communities of North Grenville

Community Living North Grenville supports individuals with an intellectual disability and their families throughout the communities of North Grenville. Over 12,000 people belong to Community Living Ontario through memberships in 117 affiliated local associations. Many have a son, daughter, brother or sister who is identified as having an intellectual disability. People who themselves have an intellectual disability are members. Churches, businesses and other community leaders also belong. We all belong to Community Living Ontario and Community Living North Grenville for the same reason. We support full inclusion of people who are identified as having an intellectual disability in all aspects of community living. The name "Community Living" reflects the growing understanding that the right to live a fully integrated life within the community- to live, to go to school, to work, to enjoy recreation and to be active in retirement - belongs to us all. It reflects the aspirations of persons with developmental intellectual disabilities to be included in the fabric of community life. Founded in 1967 by local citizens and parents to begin our journey towards inclusion, we operate through the governance of a local volunteer board of directors, representative of families, individuals who are supported by Community Living North Grenville, and the broader community. Community Living North Grenville operates through funding primarily from the Ministry of Community and Social Services, along with local fundraising and donations.

The Downtown Kemptville BIA has a vision of a beautiful downtown filled with vibrant art. Thanks to a grant from Community Futures, the vision of artist Sarah Stewart, and volunteers from Oxford Mills Girl Guides, Community Living North Grenville and local business it is now a reality. Look for it on the Asa Street side of the Royal-Lepage building.

The ladies cleaned out their pumpkins, and each picked what they wanted to carve. Sadly, after only a few days, a critter chewed part of Amy's "M", stole the middle of her "A" and knocked the top off of Dawn's. We do have a resident chipmunk who lives under our ramp though 🤣😂🤣

Thank you Diane Dewing for sharing this :)

Kreepy Kemptville is an inclusive family-centred event and Community Living was proud to be a part of it. Volunteers handed out candy, guided young folk in decorating a paper jack-o’-lantern, and handed out Halloween colouring pages. Thank you to Coldwell Banker and The Nest for providing space.
