Women have always been creators of change - often quietly, often without recognition, and often while carrying the weight of care, community, and connection.
From shaping families and healing communities to challenging systems and speaking truth, women change the world every day through courage, compassion, and persistence.
This Women’s History Month, we honour not only the names in history books, but the women beside us, and within us, who continue to make change possible.
What women have inspired you along the way?

We’re often told we just need more rest. What if the real issue isn’t just that we’re not resting enough? What if we’re being constantly drained beyond our capacity to recharge?

Rejection sensitivity doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it shows up as withdrawal, avoidance, or preemptively pulling away from others to avoid being hurt. This kind of quiet coping often gets overlooked, but it’s just as painful.
How do you tend to respond to perceived criticism or disapproval?

Rukhmabai Raut (1864–1955) was one of India’s first practicing female physicians and a powerful voice for women’s rights. In the late 19th century, she challenged deeply rooted societal norms, including child marriage, and pursued medical education in England. Returning to India, she dedicated her life to caring for women and advocating for better access to healthcare, particularly for those who had long been overlooked or underserved.
Her work reminds us that healing is not only about treating illness, but also about challenging the conditions that contribute to it. Through courage, persistence, and compassion, she helped create space for women to be both patients and practitioners - reshaping the future of care for generations to come.

A friend cancels plans. Someone takes a little too long to text back. These small events can feel devastating when you live with rejection sensitivity. The hardest part? The rejection is often imagined, but your body reacts as if it’s real.

Trotula of Salerno (11th century, Italy) was a physician and teacher at the renowned medical school of Salerno. She specialized in women’s health, advocating for compassionate and attentive care. Her writings acknowledged women’s pain and emphasized careful observation and herbal treatments.
In 11th century Italy, Trotula of Salerno was a physician and teacher who changed how women’s health was understood. At a time when many women suffered in silence, she listened with compassion and treated her patients with herbal medicine. She recognized that healing required both skill and empathy. Her work reminds us that being heard is often the beginning of healing.

Born into slavery, Biddy Mason (1818–1891, United States),became a skilled nurse and midwife. After she successfully petitioned a California court for her freedom in 1856, she went on to provide medical care to anyone in need, regardless of their ability to pay. She helped deliver hundreds of babies and became a respected healer and community leader in early Los Angeles. She reminds us that healing is not only knowledge - it is kindness in action.

Coined in 1987 by sociologist Arlene Daniels, 'invisible labour' refers to unpaid work that goes unnoticed, unacknowledged, and therefore unregulated. Today, it’s often used as shorthand for the ongoing tasks of household maintenance and child-rearing that women are still primarily responsible for. Importantly, invisible labour includes not only the tasks themselves, but also their planning, preparation, and scheduling, what we now commonly call the mental load.

What if the real reason you're overwhelmed isn’t what you're doing, but what no one sees you doing? From mental load to emotional labour, this article breaks down how unequal dynamics take root and what it actually takes to shift them. For anyone tired of quietly holding everything together, this ...
