It's always a breath of fresh air when you see sites gain the respect they deserve. Recently the Jury Lands Foundation secured one of Canada's historic sites from meeting the wreckingball and are now seeking to give the site new life.

Outside the Ontario town of sits the site known as , a boys reformatory school built in 1927 was transitioned into a Prisoner Of War Camp in 1941 housing upto 600 German officers. In October 1942 following the German shackling of prisoners in European POW camps British and Canadian commanders requested that their German prisoners also be shackled in response. On October 10th 1942, 400 German POWs fashioned weapons and barricaded themselves into several buildings.

This was to be known as The Battle of Bowmanville and lasted 3 days ending on the 12th October. Canadian guardsmen engaged in hand-to-hand combat and only regained control once water cannons and tear gas was used to quell the uprising.
Though there were injuries and trauma from close quarters fighting, due to discipline and restraint there were no casualties on either side.
The Battle of Bowmanville was the only battle on Canadian soil in WW2.

In 1946 the POW camp was shut down and converted back into a reformatory school for boys later renamed Pine Ridge Training School until the schools closure in 1979.
Some of the building were in private use until 2008 saw the whole site emptied and left abandoned.

Despite zero deaths reported on the site the dilapidated conditions drew in UrbanExplorers & claiming that they had experiences on the site.

What supernatural spookiness could be at play here?

The Battle of Bowmanville, though no deaths were reported, the uprising left an energetic impression of trauma after the prisoners & Canadian guardsmen found themselves in close quarters combat. Theoretically, this intense energy could have left a Psychic impression on the site.

Also having been left dilapidated, the buildings were beginning to fall apart, small animals had homes in the walls. Drafts & scratching noises could have been misinterpreted for something .

Now with restoration efforts in sight, it would be key to note whether any paranormal activity continues or whether the human psyche was predominantly being influenced by its surroundings andsuggestive lore.

Do tools harbor alleged abilities to summon when not in use? Should we fear the infamous ouija? In my personal opinion. No. I mean if you wish to look ridiculous and cower away from the sight of such items, all the power to you but the not so secret truth is the power has always been coming from us. No matter what we use. In the case of a ouija board, the board is just a point of focus while we channel our energy to the outcome we're seeking. The board is just a board. The same with pendulums, dowsing rods and other fun divination techniques. You are the deciding factor, the point of perception in all these circumstances.
There are more chances that your phone has a direct line to the paranormal with all the sensors it has projecting and recieving into the environment. Which is rather ironic seeing as so many of us, yours truly included, have dismissed them from investigations. Mainly due to how easyily they can be manipulated by non honest person. And in this field.... Well I'm sorry but reality sucks and there are so many liars out there among you all.

We are capable of so much more than we were ever allowed to have percieved. Half the world denounces such things to be true whilst still kneeling to sculpted texts that would have fear the very things they describe as prophetic or miraculous open your minds and see beyond the written words. See beyond your physical constraints. The methods for divination are as numerous and limited only by the limitations of your imagination.
