Get ready to embrace summer in style with our trendy sunglasses that do more than just make a fashion statement! Did you know that wearing sunglasses isn't just about looking cool, but it's also essential for protecting your eyes from harmful UV rays? Fun fact: regular sun exposure without proper eye protection can increase the risk of developing cataracts. That's why it's crucial to invest in a quality pair of shades that offer both style and UV protection. Don't compromise on your eye health this summer - stay safe and stylish with our collection of sunglasses. Let your eyes do the talking while you enjoy the sunny days ahead!

Check out these 7 eye care tips for summer to keep your family protected while enjoying some fun in the sun.

1. WEAR SUNGLASSES
Make sure everyone in the family has a good pair of sunglasses to protect their eyes against dangerous UV rays.

2. WEAR SWIMMING GOGGLES
Wear swimming goggles in the pool to protect your eyes from chlorine that can irritate your eyes and cause burning and redness.

3. REMOVE CONTACT LENSES BEFORE SWIMMING
Wearing your contact lenses when swimming can trap bacteria causing eye infections. Make sure to wash your hands thoroughly when removing and replacing your contact lenses, too.

4. AVOID THE DRAFT
When traveling, avoid drying out your eyes by directing the air conditioner vents away from your face and eyes.

5. STAY HYDRATED
Dehydration can affect your eyesight and keep your body from producing those helpful tears. Donโ€™t forget that bottle of water! Make sure to drink plenty of water during those hot days in the sun.

6. KEEP EYE DROPS HANDY
Sometimes you just need the extra protection. Thatโ€™s why I always keep a bottle of eye drops handy to relieve eye irritations and redness.

7. EAT YOUR VEGGIES
Itโ€™s true. Your veggies are super good for your eyesight. Take advantage of all those wonderful summer fruits and vegetables that are readily available and keep your body fueled with nutrients your eyes need, too.

Road construction has started on Boundary Street and is impacting Deer Park Avenue traffic. The street is now a dead end street-no thru traffic, and 2 way traffic with parallel parking on either side of street until construction is done (we been told into fall). Tickets have been handed out to those not parking correctly.

Please be patient with drivers on this street as they will have to do U-turns to get out with only one enter/exit point.

We we are hoping 1 or 2 parking spots and handicap parking will remain available close to our office for our patients during the next 6 months. We know this street is busy with use for parking by many workers in the platzl area as well as residents. A different construction project has the parking lot by Centre 64 closed as well.

Happy Construction Season and park safely!!

Office protocol update

Masks are no longer mandatory, but we still recommend them in our office. If you do not have one on arrival, just ask and we can provide you with a mask. We ask that patients sanitize their hands when entering the clinic.

Patients need to make appointments for all exam appointments and frame/lenses sales. When possible, call ahead to arrange any pickups, retail and adjustments needed. This allows us to control the number of people in office and the flow of patients through the clinic to ensure social distancing is maintained and proper sanitation between patients. Please check in with front desk upon arrival.

Thank you for your efforts in keeping our office and town healthy!
