No one should fear Christmas.

For many survivors, the holidays aren’t joyful — they’re triggering, overwhelming, and sometimes dangerous. When the world expects celebration, some are quietly trying to stay safe, keep the peace, or simply make it through the day.

At DASH, we believe every person deserves safety, dignity, and support — especially in seasons where harm often increases behind closed doors.

That’s why our Survivor Mentoring Program exists.
A place where survivors can connect with someone who understands, find emotional support, rebuild confidence, and feel less alone in their healing journey.

If you or someone you know needs support this season, our mentors are here — compassionate, trained, and ready to walk alongside you.

✨ You don’t have to navigate this alone.
Reach out. A safer future is possible.

The lights may be bright —
but many homes feel dark.

This time of year is filled with sparkle, music, and celebration… but for many survivors, the holidays can bring loneliness, fear, or memories they wish they could forget.
Behind the glow of the season, some are simply trying to stay safe, hold themselves together, or keep the peace in places that don’t feel like home.

At DASH, we see you.
We understand the hidden struggles that don’t show up in holiday photos, and we’re here to offer real, compassionate support.

Our Survivor Mentoring Program connects survivors with trained mentors who listen without judgment, help rebuild confidence, and walk alongside you as you find your way back to safety, strength, and hope.

✨ You deserve light that feels warm — not frightening.
You deserve support that lasts beyond the season.

If you or someone you know needs a safe place to turn, we’re here.
You’re not alone in this.

Today, we pause.

We remember the 14 women whose lives were taken at l’École Polytechnique in 1989.
We honour every woman, girl, and gender-diverse person who has been harmed by gender-based violence.
And we stand with the survivors who carry invisible scars, whose stories are still unfolding, whose healing matters.

For many, this day brings a mix of grief, anger, fear, or heaviness. If that’s you, please know this: your feelings are valid. Your story matters. And you are not alone.

Honouring this day isn’t just about remembering — it’s about choosing to believe a safer world is possible and taking small, meaningful actions in our communities to help create it.

Today, we hold space for those lost, for those who survived, and for those still fighting to feel safe.

💛 May we listen. May we believe. May we support. May we act.

You are not alone this Christmas.

For many survivors, the holidays can feel heavier than the rest of the year.
While others gather, celebrate, and share joy, you might be carrying fear, grief, confusion, or the quiet ache of not feeling safe in your own home.

If this season feels lonely…
If it feels like too much…
If you’re just trying to make it through — please know this:
Your experience matters. Your safety matters. And you are not alone.

At DASH, our Survivor Mentoring Program offers a safe, compassionate space to talk, be heard, and receive support from someone who truly understands.
A mentor can help you feel grounded, remind you of your strength, and walk with you through the parts of the holidays that feel difficult or overwhelming.

✨ Connection. Safety. Understanding.
You deserve all three — not just at Christmas, but all year long.

If you or someone you know needs support this season, we’re here.

In an abusive relationship we can often get stuck on the Drama Triangle; feeling helpless or victimised one moment, rescuing or over caring the next and possibly even getting frustrated, overwhelmed and lashing out. When we recognize these roles awareness happens and we can then start to shift from the Drama Triangle to the Empowerment Triangle. More below 👇

This is good news in Saskatchewan! 💜

The Saskatchewan government plans to introduce legislation that will amend the definition of interpersonal violence to include coercive or controlling behaviour and online stalking and harassment.

Congrats Sask!
