Do you watch how your child sits while they watch a show?
Technology has brought undeniable benefits, but it also carries significant risks for younger generations growing up immersed in these devices.
Structurally, we can draw a parallel to how prolonged pacifier use can alter jaw and facial development in young children.
Similarly, extended use of iPads, tablets, or phones—often involving forward head posture (commonly called “text neck” or “tech neck”) and poor ergonomics—can contribute to changes in posture, neck alignment, and even orofacial development.
These structural shifts become much harder to correct once a child is older, potentially leading to chronic issues like persistent neck pain, back problems, muscle imbalances, headaches, or musculoskeletal problems that require expensive, long-term interventions on physical, emotional, and financial levels.
When you pay attention to this whether you are an adult focusing on your child or for yourself personally… start asking how you are seated while viewing tech & if this is of a benefit or risk as you age.
