Start now.

Wherever you or your child is at.

This journey looks different for everyone.

There’s always something you can do…

Whether it’s more…

- work with an airway centric provider(s)
- body work provider(s)
- naturopaths support
- movement specialists
- regulating nervous system patterns

It all matters & starting at the right time for every family is different.

Another question I get ask daily online…

Who do you recommend in my area for myofunctional therapy &/or an airway centric dentist?

I do not give names online as I do not know the unique situation of your child/children to know as it’s not about the tools but more the expertise & collaborative team we are creating to support you child & family.

You can always schedule a virtual consultation as I offer this online for families in Canada at Functional Oral Health & internationally at Building Healthy Faces.

If you want to search more local…
Find a myofunctional therapist near you (or book a virtual consultation to start).

Directories I refer to are:
-Airway Circle
-AOMT
-IAOM

They’ll assess your child’s unique needs and connect you with a trusted network of providers (dentists, orthodontists, etc.) who work together and align with you and your child’s goals.

This is important.

It’s more about their philosophy—does it align with what you want to achieve? And having the collaborative team to support these goals.

The goal?

Coordinated care through their growing years to maximize development—supporting wider arches, proper tongue posture, nasal breathing, overall facial growth, and a structurally well-developed human.

Building healthy faces also means building healthy bodies.

Another question I get and see in all the Instagram and Facebook groups…

My child was recommended this device…

I’m seeing fast vs. slow expansion—what’s best?…

They’re recommending this expander, but I’ve also seen this one…

Why doesn’t every dentist/orthodontist use the same types of expanders, appliances, or growth guidance devices?…

Why, as a parent, am I doing all this research?
I just want to be told what’s best and feel confident with my decision!

It’s the overwhelm and decision fatigue that’s setting in…

Where do I go from here?!

Here’s my top recommendation:

#1. Find a qualified myofunctional therapist near you (or book a virtual consultation to start).

They’ll assess your child’s unique needs and connect you with a trusted network of providers (dentists, orthodontists, etc.) who work together and align with you and your child’s goals.

This is important.

It’s not always about the type of device.

It’s more about their philosophy.
Does it align with what you want to achieve? And having the collaborative team to support these goals.

This is why…

I don’t share specific names online. Every child is unique, and I want any recommendation to truly align with your family’s situation.

The goal?

Coordinated care through their growing years to maximize development—supporting wider arches, proper tongue posture, nasal breathing, overall facial growth, and a structurally well-developed human.

Building healthy faces also means building healthy bodies.

I get this question ALL the time…

“I want to create space in my child’s mouth for their wisdom teeth—I don’t want extractions! What can I do?!”

My answer is always the same: Start early.

The key is early intervention—ideally under 4-5 years old.
By around age 5-6, 60% of oral-facial development is already complete.

Waiting longer makes guiding proper jaw growth and creating natural space more challenging but not impossible.

Genetics play a big role too—take a look at you and your partner’s family history. Narrow jaws or crowding?

It can be more challenging, but early action + the right collaborative team can change the outcome dramatically.

Here’s my top recommendation:

🌿 Find a qualified myofunctional therapist near you (or book a virtual consultation to start).

They’ll assess your child’s unique needs and connect you with a trusted network of providers (dentists, orthodontists, etc.) who work together.

I don’t share specific names online—every child is different, and I want any recommendation to truly align with your family’s situation.

The goal? Coordinated care through their growing years to maximize development—supporting wider arches, proper tongue posture, nasal breathing, and overall facial growth—so we can hopefully create the space you’re dreaming of.

Important reminders:

• There are no guarantees—every child and family is unique.
• There’s no cookie-cutter approach.

• When you start early, treatment evolves naturally to match their development journey.

We’re here to help your child reach not just their genetic baseline… but their ultimate genetic potential.

Little guy came in today for his 6-month check-in!

He’s progressing really well overall!

That said, as with many little ones, certain things continue to be monitored from previous visits.

His tonsils are presenting a notable challenge right now, impacting his breathing, sleep, and overall airway health.

This is exactly why regular sessions remain so important.
They give us the opportunity to have those key conversations about what’s limiting progress, the right providers moving forward, and how this affects their littles’ well-being, even though everyone is working so hard.

We discussed recommendations to follow up with the appropriate medical providers, and provided supportive suggestions to implement while they wait for those appointments.

Even with these challenges, I’m continually impressed by the positive changes we see and the overall development in our little patients.

It reinforces how valuable it is to have the right team of providers supporting them every step of the way.
Keep up the great work team :)

Do you watch how your child sits while they watch a show?

Technology has brought undeniable benefits, but it also carries significant risks for younger generations growing up immersed in these devices.

Structurally, we can draw a parallel to how prolonged pacifier use can alter jaw and facial development in young children.

Similarly, extended use of iPads, tablets, or phones—often involving forward head posture (commonly called “text neck” or “tech neck”) and poor ergonomics—can contribute to changes in posture, neck alignment, and even orofacial development.

These structural shifts become much harder to correct once a child is older, potentially leading to chronic issues like persistent neck pain, back problems, muscle imbalances, headaches, or musculoskeletal problems that require expensive, long-term interventions on physical, emotional, and financial levels.

When you pay attention to this whether you are an adult focusing on your child or for yourself personally… start asking how you are seated while viewing tech & if this is of a benefit or risk as you age.

When parents start noticing the changes…

Or those 3-month, 6-month, or even 1–2-year check-ins roll around and they’re straight-up wowed!

That’s what makes every moment worth it. ❤️

They trusted the airway-centric path from day one, even when progress felt slow or didn’t match what they pictured.

Then the real, side-by-side proof shows up: deeper sleep, easier breathing, wider smiles, more energy, fewer issues… and suddenly it clicks that they made the right choice.

This is why I love what I do.

Helping families trust their gut when the “standard” route just didn’t feel right.

Showing there are gentler, more holistic ways forward for their kids.
Because building healthy faces builds healthier bodies.
The two are inseparable.

So grateful for every family choosing root causes over quick fixes.

Your wins light me up and remind me why we keep going.
