🎉 Happy New Year! Consider this a little MHFA gift to kick off 2026. 🎁

If you completed Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Basic or MHFA Standard in the past couple of years, there’s now a Bridge to Certification option that may allow you to become MHFA Certified without taking the full 2-day course again.

✨ What is the Bridge to Certification?

It’s a self-paced online course designed to bridge the gap between MHFA Basic/Standard and the full Certification. It covers key content and assessment areas that weren’t explored in depth in earlier versions.

✅ Who’s eligible?

Anyone who took MHFA Basic or Standard between January 1, 2023 and December 10, 2025.

Cost:

$50 if you took Basic or Standard between Jan 1, 2023 and June 11, 2025

Free if you took the course between June 12, 2025 and Dec 10, 2025

⏰ Important deadline:

The Bridge course sunsets on March 31, 2026.

After that date, certification will require the full 2-day MHFA Certification course.

What an incredible week at the CIMVHR Conference in Ottawa — surrounded by some of the smartest minds and biggest hearts in veteran and military mental health. 💚

These gatherings always remind me how much possibility lives at the intersection of research, compassion, and action.
It’s where we learn, plan, prepare, and create — new ideas, better programs, stronger systems.

Mental health and well-being are evolving, and so must we.
Those working in trauma-touched, high-stress, and essential roles — the people we need — deserve evidence-based care, solid policy, and accountability that keeps pace with real life.

The energy in that room said it all: We can do this, Canada. And we must.

🌍 Big things happening in the world can feel heavy.

✨ Create safety in your body – hug yourself (yes, it works), or move in fun, random, safe ways like dancing.

Feeling burnout on a Monday doesn’t mean you’re a failure or weak.

It means you need rest.

Our bodies and emotions send us signals for a reason, but too often we ignore them, push through, and tell ourselves we “have to” keep going.
