A new research study published by the American Journal of OBGYN concluded that “Doula care was associated with more vaginal births after caesarean delivery, improved attendance of postpartum office visits, improved breastfeeding rates, and fewer preterm deliveries. The effect of doula care was consistent across race and insurance status”

In their latest statement, the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist of Canada (SOGC) "supports the use of all available COVID-19 vaccines approved in Canada in any trimester of pregnancy and during breastfeeding in accordance with regional eligibility." They also state: "Pregnant women who have COVID-19 appear more likely to develop respiratory complications requiring intensive care than women who aren't pregnant. Providing ventilator support in pregnancy is more challenging, and the risks are greater to both mother and child. Pregnant women with COVID-19 are more likely to have a premature birth and caesarean delivery, and their babies are more likely to be admitted to a neonatal unit."
