Hello friends! Now that it's June, hopes you are excited as we are for summer fun! 🌞👙👓

Enter our colouring contest during this month for a chance to win some great summer prizes. To enter, pick up a colouring page from our office and drop it off/mail it in during the month of June. Be sure to write your name, age, and a phone number or email to reach you at!

All submissions must be received by the end of June to be considered. Winners will be picked based on creativeness, artistic ability, and colouring skill!

Besides our initiatives to avoid buying sample size products, washable surgical gowns, digital x-rays, and paperless charting, we are a drop off centre for all your old toothbrushes, empty toothpaste and floss containers! Keep up your brushing, and will worry about the recycling 😉

Today we mark one year since opened our doors! It’s been a wildly fun year, and we have continued to grow and implement many thoughtful changes to our space. Many thanks to all of our OG clients who trusted us with their care in the past year, and provided us with helpful feedback about our services. We will never forget you! We aspire to uphold our commitment in providing specialized care for the children and youth and in the Waterloo-Wellington regions. 💛 🎈

Dental anxiety is a real thing and we sure see a lot of that in children and their parents. Although many parents of anxious children inquire about our sedation services, it may surprise you that we will recommend a non-pharmacological approach if it seems appropriate. does everything we can to ensure that children have a comfortable visit with us, and that includes no-pressure sensory visits and to help young children to be acquainted with our clinical setting. We welcome our little humans to bring a therapy animal (real life or a plushie), and we are always open to song requests on our speakers or wireless headphones 🎶

New parents are really good at reading labels and following directions, so it frustrates us knowing that many product labels are inconsistent with our current guidelines in pediatric dentistry! Here our pediatric dentist highlights some of those inconsistencies in a popular kids product.

One of the questions we get a lot is "Do you offer white crowns?"---YES WE DO! We are a fully comprehensive pediatric clinic which means that we offer all the latest and greatest innovations, as well as the tried and true treatments. Here are some other questions and answers we get about crowns for kids:
Q: Do they have to be removed when it is time for baby teeth to fall out?
A: No, they are treated just like natural baby teeth.

Q: Aren't the silver caps better than the white ones?
A: Both silver and white crowns are durable, and the silver ones are most cost effective and have been around longer! White crowns require more cooperation than silver ones!

Q: I am worried that my child will not like the silver caps!
A: Actually, most kids think the silver crowns look cooler than white crowns. If there are cosmetic concerns, white crowns can be placed where teeth are more visible when smiling.
We respect that every person is different, and so each treatment plan is as unique as your child is!

We know dentistry can be expensive and pricing can seem so elusive at times. We get a lot of questions about how much services cost and we try to be as transparent as we can. The easiest explanation of fees that we follow the fee guide, which describes all the dental codes and indications for use. It can be complicated to read because it is meant to guide providers in determining billing codes. In a perfect world, the medical and service industries could tell you exactly how much treatments cost. As we know from the past 2 years, there are so many variables (type of tooth, type of materials, tooth surfaces treated, how complicated the procedure is) in the mix that can affect the cost of services.
