Recently, Cathy and her grandchildren stopped by with a generous donation from the
P10 Card Group. This group has been long-time fans and supporters of the work we do at Lisaard & Innisfree Hospice, and like to help pay-it-forward over the holidays!

Jaxson & Paisley are always a big help in Tetris-ing the donations into the vehicle and helping to deliver them - thank you, Cathy, family, and P10 Card Team! 😊🛷🎄

Our friend and volunteer Penny Reitzel recently collected stuffies from the Teddy Bear Toss at the Kitchener Rangers game, and brought them in to share with our Legacy Program!

The stuffies are used when residents would like to record a message or their heartbeat on a device that is stitched into one of these huggable stuffed animals. There are also backpacks and crocheted bags for mementos which can be attached to the stuffie.

Thank you, Penny, and our Rangers fans, for tossing teddies and conveying some our way! 🐻🧸 🥰

We remain thankful to the donors and fundholders at the Waterloo Region Community Foundation - recently, we received an incredibly generous grant through the Po***ck Family Fund to help support our work. This gift helps us ensure that our programs and services will continue at no charge to residents or their families.

Thanks to our partners Sean and Cambridge Toyota who stopped by recently with a cheque for $1,500. The dealership is celebrating a 12 days of Giving Campaign, and we are one of the fortunate recipients. Every donation stays local to help our residents and their families going through a difficult time. 😊🌲🎁

Volunteer Dolores recently dropped by with a generous donation of pantry and monetary items - Assante held an open house for clients, and collected donations in support of the work we do! 😊

Two of our residents recently spent some early evening time together looking at all the festive lights in the courtyard. Making Moments Matter can be big or small - or somewhere in between! - and we're happy to help make them happen for our residents and families. 😊🎄❄️

Fundraising is a critical role within our hospice; we have to raise $2M annually to keep the important projects we have available free of charge for residents and families.

Do you want to lend some of your time and creativity to our volunteer fundraising crew? We are looking to create a fundraising committee for 2026 that includes individuals who like to collaborate, help out at various events, and come up with fun initiatives.

Time commitments will vary, and you're guaranteed to have fun and meet new people committed to raising much needed funds for our important work - please reach out to Sarah at fd@lisaardandinnisfree.com

If the chilly weather and blanket of the white stuff weren't a tip off that winter is here, the reappearance of these little Dark-eyed Juncos certainly are! This little guy stopped by the window outside our social work team - and yes, he's perched on our barbecue (though it's sort of hard to recognize under all that snow).

We appreciate all the creatures that stop by our Houses, brightening days for our residents, families, staff, and volunteers - they help make our Houses home!

Sue from the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 272 Poppy Fund reached out to talk with us about a donation they wanted to make. After going through some of the projects we have planned, they asked that the funds be allocated to updating the washroom at Lisaard House. How generous and thoughtful!
