These words might sting, but they are a necessary reality: “We are robbing our children of the ability to be bored. And with it, the opportunity to imagine.”
We live in the era of instant distraction. Every time our children feel the slightest hint of boredom, we hand them a screen. The result? A generation that knows how to consume content but struggles to create it.
Boredom is not the enemy. It is the empty space where magic is born. It’s the moment their brain asks, “Now what do I do?”—and that question is the ultimate engine of creativity.
Without boredom:
❌ There is no need to imagine new worlds.
❌ There is no time to build castles out of pillows.
❌ There is no space for their minds to wander and discover their own passions.
This week’s challenge? Try having some “screen-free time.” Not as a punishment, but as an opportunity. Tolerate those first few minutes of complaining. Trust the process. I promise you’ll be amazed at what their minds are capable of creating when the digital world turns off.
