We are proud to announce that we have received base funding from the Ontario Ministry of Health to launch a new Caregiver Respite Program beginning April 2026 at our Opportunity Centre.

This funding supports the expansion of adult day and caregiver support services on the weekend, helping reduce caregiver burnout while enhancing quality of life for individuals living with a brain injury.

We’re excited to welcome Reethika Ramseh to the Traverse Independence Board of Directors!

Reethika brings a unique blend of creativity and strategic thinking, with a background in architecture and current studies in Business Management. Her passion for leadership, community impact, and empowering individuals to live more independent and fulfilling lives is what drew her to Traverse Independence and strongly aligns with our mission.

She has been actively involved in volunteering and previously served as a peer mediator, where she developed strong skills in communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution, along with a natural ability to connect with others. Reethika is eager to contribute a fresh perspective and make a meaningful impact as part of our board.

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Reethika enjoys creative expression through dancing and playing the piano, as well as spending time with friends and family.

We're looking forward to having her energy, creativity, and passion help shape the future of Traverse Independence.

Today our day program staff and clients had a sham-rockin’ good time celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. They rocked various shades of green, did some colouring, played cards and were Dublin over with laughter.

🍀 Happy St. Patrick’s Day!💚

🧠March is Brain Injury Awareness Month🧠

Every day, individuals and families navigate the life changing impacts of brain injury - often silently and often without the support they truly need.

This month, we’d like to shine a light on those living with acquired and traumatic brain injuries, to honour their resilience and to advocate for the understanding and resources they deserve.

At Traverse, we’re proud to walk alongside our clients on their rehabilitation journey. Our team provides compassionate, specialized support designed to help individuals rebuild skills, increase independence, and move forward with confidence.

✨ Our services include:
• Personalized rehabilitation plans
• Cognitive and communication support
• Behavioural therapy and emotional regulation strategies
• Life skills training and community reintegration
• Family and caregiver coaching
• Collaborative, client centered care from a multidisciplinary team

Brain injury can change lives, but so can the right support.
