Today our day program staff and clients had a sham-rockin’ good time celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. They rocked various shades of green, did some colouring, played cards and were Dublin over with laughter.

🍀 Happy St. Patrick’s Day!💚

🧠March is Brain Injury Awareness Month🧠

Every day, individuals and families navigate the life changing impacts of brain injury - often silently and often without the support they truly need.

This month, we’d like to shine a light on those living with acquired and traumatic brain injuries, to honour their resilience and to advocate for the understanding and resources they deserve.

At Traverse, we’re proud to walk alongside our clients on their rehabilitation journey. Our team provides compassionate, specialized support designed to help individuals rebuild skills, increase independence, and move forward with confidence.

✨ Our services include:
• Personalized rehabilitation plans
• Cognitive and communication support
• Behavioural therapy and emotional regulation strategies
• Life skills training and community reintegration
• Family and caregiver coaching
• Collaborative, client centered care from a multidisciplinary team

Caring for someone you love is meaningful, but it can also be exhausting.

Caregiver burnout is real. When you’re supporting a friend or family member with an Acquired Brain Injury, the emotional, physical, and mental load can feel overwhelming. You don’t have to carry it alone!
At Traverse, we are proud to offer “Care 2 Share” a supportive, understanding space for caregivers of individuals with ABI.

🧠 Care 2 Share is a place to:
✔ Connect with others who truly “get it”
✔ Share experiences and challenges
✔ Learn coping strategies
✔ Feel supported, heard, and valued

If you’re a caregiver, you deserve support too.
If you know a caregiver, please share this with them.
You care for others every day, let us care for you.

As the season changes, so do the faces on our Board of Directors.

We are excited to share an update as we continue to strengthen our leadership and shape the direction of our organization.

Please join us in welcoming Patty Wasylchuk, our newest Board Member.

Patty brings valuable experience and a fresh perspective, and we’re thrilled to have her join us in this important role.

A little about Patty: “As a lifelong resident of Kitchener and having family who have navigated acquired brain injury services in other communities for over a decade, I am excited to offer my support as a Traverse Board Member. I have been working as a technology professional for over 30 years and am currently working for a manufacturer of tools and outdoor equipment, leading a team of analytics experts. In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband, 3 kids, and their families, spending time up on the Bruce Peninsula, and exercising to ensure I can hike for decades to come.”

🩷Pink Shirt Day 2026🩷

On Wednesday February 25th, we're encouraging everyone to wear pink to stand together against bullying and lift up kindness, empathy, and inclusion.

A simple shirt can spark a powerful message:
🫶 Everyone deserves to feel safe.
💬 Words matter.
🌟 Kindness is contagious, so pass it on.

Whether at school, at work, or online, let’s choose to support one another and speak up when it matters most.
