Today, clients at our Opportunity Centre had a blast playing a lively game of Jeopardy! 🎲

It was an morning full of fun, learning, and friendly competition.

Games like these are a great way to build skills, boost confidence, and share lots of laughs together. Thanks to everyone who joined in and made it such a memorable event! 💙

🧠 Conference Connection!

Our Intensive Case Coordinator, Dan Holisek, attended the 2025 Provincial ABI Conference from November 5–7, presented by Ontario Brain Injury Association in Niagara Fall, ON.

While there, Dan ran into our Accreditation Canada contact, Bozena Michalik, and they snapped this great selfie!📸

Remembrance Day 2025

Today, we pause to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country in times of war, conflict, and peace.

At 11AM, we will observe a moment of silence to remember those who gave their lives, those who returned forever changed, and those who continue to serve for the freedoms and values we hold so dear today.

We are forever grateful.
Lest we forget. 🌺

Today we had a special guest at Union Lane. Our staff member, Elena, brought her daughter, Carina, to experience a day in the life as a Community Facilitator at Traverse Independence.

Take Our Kids to Work Day is a national initiative in Canada that invites Grade 9 students to step into the working world for a day. It’s a great opportunity for parents, guardians, and mentors to share their professional lives and inspire the next generation.

Whether it's sitting in on meetings, learning about different roles, or simply experiencing the rhythm of a workday, it’s a memorable and meaningful experience for all involved.

Thank you, Carina, for asking great questions, helping clients and scan documents. Your help was much appreciated, and we hope you learned a lot.

Today was full of laughter, creativity, and spooky spirit as our amazing clients and staff dressed up in some clever costumes!

Our Tagge St. location clients channeled their inner ghost hunters in a lively Ghostbusters game. Meanwhile, our fabulous staff turned up the nostalgia dressed as the Spice Girls.

To top it off, everyone enjoyed some creepy (but delicious) eyeball pudding cups.

It was heartwarming to see everyone’s personalities shine through their costumes, and the joy was absolutely contagious. A huge thank you to all who participated and helped make this day so spooktacular!

Traverse would like to wish everyone a very happy and safe Halloween! 🎃

Today is World Stroke Day🧠

We wish to continue to raise awareness about stroke - a leading cause of death and disability worldwide. Every second counts when it comes to recognizing the signs and taking action.

A stroke occurs when blood flow to part of the brain is interrupted, either by a blockage (ischemic stroke) or a rupture (hemorrhagic stroke). This deprives brain cells of oxygen and nutrients, causing a person to pass within minutes.

Stroke can happen to anyone, at any age. But with education, prevention, and quick response, lives can be saved and outcomes improved.

You have to act FAST:
-Facial drooping
-Arm (or leg) weakness
-Speech difficulties
-Time to call emergency services.

Let’s spread the word, support survivors, and honour those affected.
