There are so many in need, especially during this time of year.
Our Head Office team came together to collect and donate essential items for those in need.❤️‍🩹

We will be delivering these crucial supplies to Sanguen Health Centre in Kitchener-Waterloo and Stepping Stone in Guelph/Wellington.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed or plans to - your generosity truly makes a difference!

If you’re able, please consider donating to these amazing organizations or others in your community. Every little bit helps and makes a real difference!🙏

🎄 Elves & Gnomes on the Loose! 🎄
Some of our sites have been taken over by mischievous holiday helpers!

✨ At the Opportunity Centre, Stevie the Elf has been up to no good - vandalizing a picture of our Service Coordinator, Brittany! Another day, they switched gears and whipped up a delicious dessert for our clients. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any sillier…they were spotted tied to the ceiling fan!

🎅 Meanwhile, at Head Office, we’ve got a Gnome on the Roam, who mysteriously keeps popping up in different people’s offices.

We're having so much festive fun and excited to see what surprises they have to come! 🧝‍♂️🎁

✨ The holiday season is here - a time for joy, connection, and yes, even progress on your stroke recovery journey! ✨

Between the festivities, sprinkle in moments to focus on yourself:
🎄 Deck the halls while practicing hand and arm movements. Hanging ornaments or wrapping gifts can double as motor skill retraining.

🍪 Bake with love - measuring, mixing, and decorating cookies are wonderful ways to improve coordination (and enjoy tasty rewards!).
🎶 Rock around the tree by adding some dancing or gentle stretching to your favorite holiday tunes.

The holidays are for celebration, but they’re also a chance to weave a little recovery magic into your daily joy. Make it festive, make it fun! Every little step forward counts and this season is the perfect time to celebrate all you’ve accomplished so far.

You’ve got this! 🎁✨

😷Mask Fit Testing

At Traverse, safety is our top priority. For employees who wear tight-fitting respirators, mask fit testing is essential to ensure proper protection against airborne hazards. A respirator that doesn’t fit correctly can allow harmful particles to bypass the seal, putting the wearer at risk.

What is Mask Fit Testing?
It verifies that a respirator forms a secure seal on the wearer’s face. This process checks for leaks and confirms that the mask provides the intended level of protection. There are two main types of testing:
• Qualitative: Uses taste or smell indicators to detect leaks.
• Quantitative: Uses specialized equipment to measure leakage precisely.

Why Do We Conduct It?
• Compliance: It’s required by occupational health and safety regulations.
• Protection: Ensures employees are safeguarded against dust, chemicals, and other airborne hazards.
• Confidence: Gives our team peace of mind knowing their equipment works as intended.

Regular fit testing is not just a rule, it’s a commitment to your health and safety.

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming 3 amazing team members from Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region to our Day Program at The Opportunity Centre.
