POV: they’re not grey hairs… they’re ✨sparkles✨

Every one earned.
Every one a story.
Every one proof that I’ve lived, carried, built, survived, and grown.

So no, I’m not covering them up.
I’m letting them shine.

Because honestly?
I didn’t come this far to dull my sparkle. ✨

This week in clinic, I had a lot of conversations with moms who felt like they were “failing” their rehab.

But when we actually unpacked it?
They weren’t failing.
The plan just didn’t fit their life.

They were given exercises, routines, expectations…
without anyone stopping to ask:
👉 What does your day actually look like?
👉 How much capacity do you really have right now?
👉 What phase of motherhood are you in?

Because let’s be honest—
being told to “just do XYZ” when you’re running on broken sleep, managing kids, work, and everything in between…
doesn’t feel helpful.
It feels overwhelming.
And sometimes, it feels like your provider just doesn’t get it.

I do.
Because I’m in it too.

I know that some seasons are chaos.
Some feel manageable.
And some? You’re just trying to get through the day.

And your rehab plan should reflect that.

Not your best-case scenario.
Not your pre-kids routine.
Not someone else’s version of consistency.

👉 It should meet you where you are.
👉 It should feel doable on your busiest days.
👉 And it should adapt as your life changes (because it will).

You don’t need a “perfect” program.
You need one that actually fits your life.

And you deserve to feel seen in that.

Pelvic floor physiotherapy in pregnancy isn’t just about “fixing problems” — it’s about preparing your body for what’s ahead.

As your body changes, so do the demands on your pelvic floor, core, and movement patterns.

Getting support during pregnancy can help you:
• Stay active with more confidence
• Manage symptoms if they come up
• Learn how to relax and coordinate your pelvic floor
• Feel more prepared for labour and birth

And no — it doesn’t have to involve internal treatment to be effective.

Think of it as setting yourself up for a smoother pregnancy, birth, and recovery.

Happy International Women’s Day 💕

Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women around the world. From breaking barriers to shaping history, women continue to inspire change and lead the way toward a more equal future.

Let’s honor the women who have paved the way, support those making an impact today, and empower the next generation to keep moving forward. Together, we can create a world where every woman’s voice is heard and valued.

Did you know the best way to help women stay active is:
✨ to make sure the exercise or activity has a social connection
✨ we focus on intrinsic motivators (enjoying the activity) ✨ and having a strong support system

These may seem simple but they can be super hard to find, especially when you are a busy mom trying to juggle all the things.

On the weekend I was able to return to one of my favourite places . I ran into some of my favorite humans and it 💯 filled up my cup (I wish I had pictures of all the amazing humans but I’m pumped I at least snagged this one).

Don’t get me wrong, I love my solo runs but there is something magical about being surrounded by lovely and supportive humans who cheer you on when you are really struggling and give you a high five you when you accomplish something you didn’t think you could.

If fitness if a goal of yours, and you find it hard to stay motivated or consistent, try a group class or call a friend to go out for a walk. Don’t underestimate how important having fun and being social is to you being active 💕

In December, I finally got blood work done. And guess what? My iron levels were in the toilet, like so low that my friends in health care were wondering how I was even standing upright and not completely exhausted all the time.

I thought I was doing all the things right: eating a mostly vegetarian diet (and making sure that I was getting enough protein), taking my vitamins, sleeping 7-8 hours a night, drinking all the water and strength training. Turns out that my body needs meat. Like really needs it and I wasn’t doing ok.

I wanted to talk about this for a few reasons:

1. Health care providers aren’t perfect- we are a work in progress too.

2. Get your blood work done (ideally yearly). You might be surprised by the findings.

3. Every body is different. Some things work for some people and not for others….and that’s ok!

4. Track your own symptoms. Similar to the above point, everyone is different (and honestly we have very little research on women). The best things we can do is to track your own symptoms to see how your body reacts to things. This gives you information about your body to help you make choices going forward.

5. Trust that inner voice. I had signs for a while that my iron was probably low but I kept pushing: dark circles under my eyes, fatigue, getting light headed easily. Women’s center for intuition is double the size of men’s, which means we have a super human power. If things feel off, get it checked. And remember that you know your body the best.

6. Get yourself a team! Having a team of people behind you to support you is key to taking care of yourself health.
