It's "hook-up time" here! This is my nightly ritual 8 hours, 7 nights a week to help my body stay healthy while my kidney totally retired!

This is my amazing daughter, Mariella, who sometimes gets a little curious about the science behind these bags of solutions! She's seen firsthand how this machine works hard for me. Since my own kidneys aren't functioning, my Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) machine is running a filter solution into my peritoneal cavity to do the job of clearing toxins and excess fluid.
​It's been quite the adjustment. The beginning was tough, and sometimes it still hurts a little when I start, but I am learning to manage. There are definitely ups and downs, but this machine keeps me stable.

​Holding on tight and staying positive while I wait for a kidney. Every night I spend with this machine is another night closer to that goal!
