At the same time, more than one feeling can exist within us.

You can be healing and still hurting.
Growing while grieving.
Calm yet overwhelmed.
Loved and still lonely.

Emotions are not contradictions, they are evidence of being human. Two truths can live side by side, and neither one cancels the other out.

Give yourself permission to hold both. 🤍

Not every child can say how they feel… but they can colour it. 🎨

When children colour, draw, or create art, they’re often expressing feelings they may not yet have the words for. Art can help kids slow down, focus, and safely explore big emotions like worry, excitement, frustration, or joy.

In therapy, creative activities like colouring can help children:
-Express their thoughts and feelings
-Build confidence and decision-making skills
-Practice focus and mindfulness
-Regulate emotions in a calm, supportive space

Sometimes the most meaningful conversations happen with a crayon in hand. 💛

Today’s sunshine was a gentle reminder of how small moments can lift our mood. Like the changing seasons, our mental health grows when we pause, reflect, and give ourselves care.

What’s one small moment today that brought you a sense of calm?

We know, we know… it’s the mental health equivalent of ‘drink more water.’Helpful advice, but not always easy to put into practice without support.

Sometimes boundaries look like:
• not responding to a text right away
• saying “let me think about it” instead of automatically saying yes
• leaving when you feel tired rather than pushing past your limits
• turning off work notifications after hours
• taking time for yourself without guilt
• allowing others to manage their own emotions and reactions

Small, consistent boundaries help protect your energy and support healthier relationships over time.

What boundary do you find most challenging to maintain?

There’s a specific kind of exhaustion that hits on Sunday nights.

Not dramatic. Not catastrophic.
Just… fried.

You’ve been available.
You’ve been responsive.
You’ve been “on.”

And suddenly your brain wants noise.
Endless, mindless, low-effort noise.

Doom scrolling makes sense. It’s your nervous system looking for relief.

The problem isn’t the scrolling.
It’s that it doesn’t actually restore you.

So tonight, instead of fighting yourself, try giving your body 10 minutes of real care first.

• hot shower
• lie on the floor and breathe
• step outside
• journal one page unfiltered
• stretch in silence

Sometimes we don’t need more willpower.
We need to feel safe enough to slow down.

If this is you tonight, you’re not alone.

Your time here is yours.

Arrive a little early and settle in however you need. Colour a page. Work on a puzzle. Flip through a book. Or simply sit, breathe, and let yourself land.

There’s no right way to wait, just space to pause before your session begins

Sometimes the thoughts that feel the loudest aren’t the most accurate. Our minds try to protect us, but sometimes they exaggerate, assume, or fill in blanks that aren’t actually there.

Learning to notice unhelpful thinking patterns isn’t about judging yourself. It’s about creating space between you and the story your mind is telling.

Awareness creates space and in that space, change becomes possible.

Who says therapy has to feel clinical?
We do things differently here because we know how much your environment affects your healing.

Many imagine a cold, clinical space, but a thoughtfully designed room can support your growth, spark reflection, and make every session feel welcoming… with a touch of personality. 🪩✨

Valentine’s Day may have passed, but being reminded you matter never goes out of season 🤍

At Exhale, we wanted everyone who walks through our doors to feel seen, valued, and a little extra special, with a flower and a message to take with you.

Because you are brave.
You are worthy.
You are enough.

And you don’t need a holiday to be reminded of that.

We gave these out for Valentine’s Day, and we restocked a few left in the office. If you’re coming in, please help yourself.

A small reminder might be waiting for you 🌸

Did you know your environment can influence how safe you feel before a session even begins?

Our brains are always scanning for cues. Harsh lighting and sterile rooms can keep your nervous system on alert, while warm wood, soft lighting, and natural elements help signal calm.

One thing we truly pride ourselves on is creating a space that doesn’t feel clinical. We want you to feel like you’re walking into a friend’s home, sitting down in the living room, and having a real conversation.

When a space feels warm and familiar, your nervous system can relax. And when your body feels safe, it’s easier to open up, reflect, and do the meaningful work therapy invites.
