I made sourdough pretzels tonight, but first I made oven art, and then I made a drink to celebrate NOT burning my house down.
Turns out that when you have sourdough bread rising for a morning bake, that you are supposed to take it out of the oven BEFORE you preheat for the pretzels.
It was my favourite giant Tupperware bowl too…and a double batch of dough totally wasted. Double f@ck. Also, while I was frantically waving a towel by the ceiling to get the smoke alarm to stop howling, the melted plastic cooled, and now it’s stuck to my oven rack. Does that make it a triple f@ck?
The pretzels are delicious though, and the V8 Ceasar is really good. It’s made with local Sask which is great - you should try it. Don’t try the ruining stuff and trying to burn your house down part. 0/10 Do not recommend.
