I have taken a part two of facial massage and skincare and am now offering more techniques to this luxurious treatment!

What does this treatment include?

I sit here in the smoke.

Wondering if there will be a community to go back to?

On Monday, the mandatory evacuation was called for the tri-communities.

On Tuesday, the fire breached into the community.

It destroyed two major historical landmarks in our community.

I’ve lived in this community for almost my entire life of 32 years old.

The unbelievable happened.

On Tuesday night, I left my beautiful community and surrounding plant kin.

As I followed the convoy heading south; I had prepared myself for the devastation I was about to see of what is left of our forest.

The forest that is still continuing to burn further up north. The fire spirit taking our plant kin with it.

I drove in silence watching the hazard lights on the vehicles in front of me.

I thought about the inferno that my community had to drive through the day prior.

The terror they all endured as the flames consumed our forest in the ditches beside them.
Meanwhile not being able to see through the smoke at times.

I had been in denial about the fires getting this bad and it’s still far from being over.

I did not know last Friday would be the last time I ever walked around in Robertson’s Trading Post.

I took it for granted. I am grateful that I had time to stop there one last time. Had I known it would be the last, I would have taken it all in more.

My family home is barely a block away from where Robertson’s Trading Post and Rona were.

The shock is surreal.

I haven’t been able to feel all of the emotions of everything that has been destroyed and everything that is still yet to come.

It all feels like a nightmare that I can’t wake up from.

The province that I love is on fire with no rain in sight.

People’s homes and cabins have burnt.
People have been displaced from their sanctuary.
Many do not have money for their basic needs.

Our government doesn’t care that our land is burning.
Our government doesn’t care about us.
Even though they rely on all of our resources.

I am praying for a miracle.
I am praying for our people.
I am praying for our land.
I am praying for our Earth Mother.
For our rain kin to step in and extinguish the fire spirit.

This isn’t normal.
None of this is normal.
Climate change is real.

It’s time for everyone to believe it.
It’s time to care about our Earth Mother.
The future generations.
We. Are. All. Connected.
What happens to one, happens to all.

Thank you to everyone who is volunteering and helping fight this fire monster in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. For risking your lives for our safety and to protect the north. You are heroes.
