Very good.
The Lacombe Police Service is pleased to announce a new partnership with Not In My City, a national organization working to prevent and disrupt human trafficking and sexual exploitation through awareness, collaboration, and collective action.
Human trafficking and sexual exploitation are serious and ongoing harms affecting communities across Canada, including smaller and mid-sized communities. Through this partnership, the Lacombe Police Service is strengthening its commitment to proactive, prevention-focused policing by advancing awareness, early identification, and coordinated responses to exploitation.
By aligning with Not In My City, LPS is reinforcing its role in protecting the Lacombe community through increased collaboration with community and provincial partners, improved support for victims and survivors, and a shared commitment to ensuring concerns are recognized and reported safely. This partnership reflects a proactive approach aimed at identifying exploitation earlier and reducing the conditions in which it can occur.
“Our community’s safety depends on awareness, action, and compassion,” said Chief Jason Dobirstein, Lacombe Police Service. “Being an ally means using our voice, our authority, and our actions to protect the vulnerable. For the Lacombe Police Service, it is a commitment to stand with survivors, confront exploitation in all its forms, and work collaboratively to create a community where trafficking and abuse have no place. Our partnership with Not In My City strengthens that mission and reflects our dedication to prevention, education, and meaningful support.”
Not In My City works alongside law enforcement, community organizations, governments, and other stakeholders across Canada to mobilize action and support lasting change aimed at ending human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
The Lacombe Police Service encourages residents, organizations, and community partners to remain informed, vigilant, and engaged as part of a shared effort to protect vulnerable individuals and strengthen community safety.
