Hello all,
I hope everyone is staying safe during this terrible storm. I wanted to repost Ken Wingett's obituary and draw your attention to the change in times for his visitation and service. Due to the lack of power in the village and being unsure when it will be restored, we wanted to make sure that those that wanted to attend would have the opportunity to do so. Thank you and be safe!!

Exciting Improvements Underway!!
The funeral home is pleased to announce that we have recently begun repaving of our parking lot and driveways. We have also replaced the aging interlocking bricks with poured concrete. The paving is expected to be fully completed in about two weeks and the concrete will have its final finish applied in three weeks. In the meantime, Tony Niemann is doing an amazing job making our gardens look beautiful. Thanks Tony!!

It is with overwhelming and immeasurable grief we announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Tammy Underwood, on Saturday April 10, 2021. Tammy joined the Hendren Team 7 years ago, though many of us have known her for far longer, through her extensive involvement and volunteering in this community she loves.
Our hearts are with her husband Steve, her 3 children, Kendra, Jake and Alexis, her parents, family and the many many close friends she leaves behind, as well as with each other at this very difficult time.
5 years ago, Tammy wanted to further serve her community by becoming a funeral director and helping so many of the families she knows, as well as those she’d just met, through a difficult loss. We could all now use Tammy’s caring and compassionate support, as we sit stunned by her untimely and sudden death.
Many people imagine that because of our line of work, we are better equipped to deal with loss but, as each member of our Hendren family grieves and feels the pain of losing our friend, each one of us having a unique bond with Tammy, we know this isn’t the case.
We love you Tammy. You have touched so many lives so deeply and you are greatly missed.

Funeral arrangement information will follow when available.

Our Story

At Hendren Funeral Homes, we believe a funeral should be whatever a family needs it to be. Funerals are changing and at every step, during difficult times, Hendren guides, accommodates, respects, and supports the grief process. We create deeply meaningful occasions that bring together family and friends, strengthen community, in the sharing of life stories.

At Hendren, we listen. We don't proscribe to families what they need, or should do. Instead, with our many years of experience, we offer suggestions, we guide, we accommodate, we serve.

Our kind, professional staff ensure comfort and attention to detail, at every step along the way. We are right there when you need us to provide strength and support; and when you need time, space and privacy, we know when to step back. At Hendren, respectful relationships and trust are the cornerstones of what we offer. Our dedicated staff members are committed to caring for our families fully—in the days before, during the ceremonies, and for as long after as we are needed.

Why do we feel honoured to do the work we do? Even during sad times, when families choose Hendren, somehow there are smiles too. Memories and joyful times matter, and we honour the full range of emotions that a life's story brings.
