Welcome the newest team member at Align, Jordan! โœจ

Certified Athletic Therapist
Practicing Kinesiologist

Jordan is taking new patients starting Saturday October 26th! (She will be accepting new ICBC claims mid November)

Graduating with a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Athletic and Exercise Therapy, Jordan is a Certified Athletic Therapist and Practicing Kinesiologist. Her main focuses in the clinic are helping clients understand their injury and collaboratively work with clients to get them back to their regular activities.

Growing up in Victoria, Jordan did competitive gymnastics and spent lots of time in the outdoors, skiing, hiking, and biking. Through sports she experienced how an injury can be overwhelming and that the right team for rehabilitation can show you injury is not something to be tackled alone. Athletic Therapists assess and treat musculoskeletal injuries, (acute and chronic) in order to determine the best rehabilitation plan. Through manual therapy and exercise rehabilitation techniques Jordan looks at how to best manage the current injury and prevent recurring injury. Each treatment plan is catered to the specific individual, their injury, activities and lifestyle. Jordan takes a whole-body approach to an injury to determine the root cause and educate clients through the rehabilitation process.

If you have an acute or chronic injury, aches and pains or feel as though your body is preventing you from your lifestyle goals, I would be happy to collaborate and help you reach your optimal health.

Please help us welcome our new registered massage therapist Nicole!!

Nicole graduated from Camosun College with her Massage Therapy Diploma in 2022. Nicole is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC). Through her time in school she found an interest in pain science and the relationship between chronic pain and stress within the mind and body. She's focused on creating a patient-centered environment and wants to ensure each patient feels heard.

Growing up Nicole watched her mother struggle with chronic pain from an autoimmune condition and one of the ways she found relief was through massage. This sparked Nicole's interest in massage and the importance of pain management.

Nicole has a relaxing approach to treatment and uses techniques such as general swedish massage, myofascial release, and trigger point release.

When Nicole's not practicing massage she keeps busy watching her children's sports or reading.

Nicoleโ€™s schedule is open for June and she is taking new patients!!

Spring has sprung and in TCM spring is associated with the Liver and the Wood element.

The Liver is responsible for keeping the free and easy flow of blood, energy and emotions throughout the body and mind.

Spring is all about rebirth and regrowth. These energies are both upward and outward moving and it is common to experience intense feelings of irritability, anxiety, anger and impatience.

All these feelings can arise when the Liver is out of balance, when the body feels stagnated and also can be stirred up with the high winds that spring can bring.

This is the time to get up and get out, be creative and take action.

Acupuncture is also a great way to help with these feelings and also help the Liver do its job in keeping the blood, energy and emotions free flowing throughout.
