What a fun night! I just love our crew and can’t wait for our next team get together!

Neck Pain Hack! πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

Here’s a quick hack/tip that you can try at home to help with neck pain. For those of you that sleep on your side, try this out to help keep your neck in more of a neutral position while sleeping. It can reduce the pressure and tension you may get from laying on your side. Your neck will thank you! πŸ’†β€β™€οΈβ€οΈ

Movement Monday!

Knees cave in during a squat? πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ
Follow along for some helpful tips and exercises to work on knee control with squatting! Here’s the third drill:

Banded external rotation drill
⁃ this exercise also aims at cueing the gluts and lateral rotators of the hip to help with knee control during squatting
⁃ the banded helps with muscle activation and recruitment
⁃ Think about bringing your knee into the cave out position and then outwards by pulling agains the band while keeping the foot planted

Give it this series a try to work in knees caving in during squatting! Working on technique will help with movement efficiency and reduce the risk of injury under heavier loads! Let us know how it goes! πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ

Here’s the first drill:

Lateral lunge mobility drill πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ

This exercise aims at working the adductor muscle group through range of motion to open up the inner thigh. Often, tension in these muscles can contribute to knees caving in during squatting movements!

Muscle tension can come with muscle weakness at times. Here’s an exercise to try to work on strengthening your hamstrings and gluts to go along with that stretch that we showed you last week.

Standing on your feet all day? Feet feeling sore? Try this self release technique out to show your feet some love πŸ’›

The plantar fascia at the bottom of our feet help with arch support and shock absorption with walking/running. Using a lacrosse ball to release the bottom of the foot can help release some of the small muscles under the foot. Try this for 2-3 minutes as needed.
