What you see:
string + trees

What we see:
a laser maze that begins with patience and turn-taking,
requires deep breaths and calm, thoughtful movements,
and ends with a rewarding “gem” to bring back to your team 💎

This is the magic of working alongside nature —
simple materials, big opportunities for creativity, regulation, and connection.

Always playful. Always purposeful. Always fun 🌱

Hey friends! 🌞

Wondering what’s new at the ranch?
🌱 Longer days + later sunsets = more daylight and the prettiest skies 🌅
🌱 Warmer weather = fewer layers (big yay for everyone 🙌)
🌱 More equipment to better support your kids

And what’s staying the same?
💚 Your OTs are still here for you.
💚 We’re still having so much fun.
💚 And yes—we’re still getting VERY dirty… and it’s the best part!

Spring is showing off, and we’re here for all of it.

🌿✨ Nature Journey Sticks 🌿✨
Take a stick with some wool and go on a nature walk selecting nature items on the forest floor to add to your stick by wrapping the wool around and securing them in place.

Use them as wands, dancing sticks, decorations or mixers to your mud kitchen stations. 🥰🌿

Give them a go!

Hey friends! 🌦️😊🥾

Join a session with me 🤍

What started as free play at the dirt pile slowly turned into a child-led experiment: nature cement.

Through their ideas, the kids practiced teamwork, sharing, compromising, and including one another.

Sometimes an OT’s plan gets beautifully shifted by the kids—and it’s always for the better. 🌱

Hey friends!

We’re not working on sitting still.

We’re working on connection, confidence, and bodies that feel safe enough to learn.🌱

Stillness can come later.
First comes regulation. 💚

Hey friends, happy Wednesday!☺️

This video may look busy—but we see so much more.

Teamwork. Collaboration. Communication.
Problem-solving, spatial awareness, and shared purpose.

This is play doing its work. 🌱

The outdoors asks less and offers more.

This is why we choose nature as a therapeutic space.

Hey friends!

If emotions feel big in your child’s body…

try bringing those feelings outside.

Heavy work—like pushing logs, carrying rocks, digging, or climbing—gives the nervous system the deep input it needs to settle. When the body feels more organized, emotions often feel more manageable too.

This isn’t about stopping feelings.

It’s about helping the body feel safe enough to move through them.

Sometimes regulation needs to happen through the body before words can come.

🌱 Small moments of movement in nature can make space for big feelings.

Hey friends!

Last week, our older group took on a communication challenge. 🗣️

One person held the image. One person held the blocks.

The only bridge between them? Words.

As they navigated clarifying questions, problem-solving, and moments of mismatch, we saw teamwork take shape in real time—adjusting language, listening closely, and learning how to express ideas clearly when things didn’t go as planned. 🧠👋

These kinds of challenges build more than structures.
They build connection, perspective-taking, and confidence in communicating with others—skills that matter far beyond this moment.

Hey friends!

Progress doesn’t always show up as a new skill or a checked box.

Often, it shows up quietly—felt in the body before it’s seen on the outside.

In nature-based OT, we look for growing capacity:
the ability to stay, to try, to recover, to trust.
Some days that looks like movement. Other days it looks like rest.

Both matter.

Progress isn’t linear here, and it doesn’t need to be rushed.

We meet each nervous system where it is, knowing that small, steady shifts build something lasting 🌿
