The Vancouver Canucks training camp was in Penticton last week, not far down the road from our Lake Country location. We had the opportunity to watch a couple practices and even got to meet a few of our favourite players. Go Canucks Go!

A few weeks ago we embarked on our fourth annual CONNECT Lake Country camping trip. This year we mixed things up a bit and switch locations to Augur Lake Camp, a wheelchair accessible, barrier free campground located in Summerland, BC. What a wonderful three days filled with walks, fishing, games, kayaking / canoeing, campfires and ample opportunity of practice our skills out in the wild. We can't wait to do it all again next year.

On September 17th, Connect Lake Country successfully accomplished our second annual Loop the Lake, a 17.6km relay around Wood Lake. We once again had a fantastic team effort from nearly all the people we serve and staff members, doing everything from designing and making t-shirts, weekly planning meetings, day of coordinating, the relay itself and everything in between. Thank you again to everyone at Connect Lake Country for making this year another fantastic event. We would also like to thank CRIS Adaptive for supporting us again this year by providing a kayak and adaptive bikes for our event. We can't wait to see everyone again next year!

With only one week left of summer, we are reflecting on what a fantastic summer it has been in Lake Country. From hiking, biking and paddle boarding to evening walks, backyard games, sailing and so many other activities, we are going to miss the warm weather. The people we serve in Lake Country have accomplished so much over the past number of months and we cannot wait to see what where their goals take them in the fall.
