Our Story

Dr. Sjovold has a naturopathic medical practice where she integrates both alternative and conventional medicine to provide safe, effective, natural healthcare to patients of all ages. Her special interest areas are allergies and/or sensitivities, digestive complaints and conditions, and neurotransmitter/hormone imbalances. From balancing neurotransmitters and hormones to restore healthy sleep patterns and overall energy; to optimizing digestion and improving nutrition through dietary changes and supplementation; to promoting healthy detoxification using a variety of natural therapies; to teaching stress management tools, Dr Sjovold’s overall goals are to help her patients achieve and maintain their own unique level of optimal health. She strives to treat each patient as a unique individual and to build a trusting relationship with them – through compassionate listening, to discussing a patient’s short-term health concerns and their long-term wellness goals, to presenting the best treatment options based on a patient’s immediate healthcare needs to affordability of care. She has had firsthand experience with illness, having suffered from severe chronic fatigue syndrome as a young woman. It is this firsthand experience that has formed in her the strong conviction that Naturopathic Medicine has an integral part to play in an individual’s health care plan. One of her great passions is trying to live a joyful, healthy, and balanced life, and in so doing be an example to others.
