Meet Emily McGill - MC, RCC |

Emily believes that as human beings, we are wired for deep and meaningful connection.

Her work is grounded in a holistic approach to wellness, honouring the body, mind, and spirit as equally important contributors to our felt sense of health. Rooted in relational theory, Emily understands that we are profoundly shaped by our relationships, both past and present, and that healing often unfolds within safe and attuned connection.

Emily brings particular passion to supporting clients navigating women’s issues, family life, parenting, neurodiversity, relationships, life transitions, and the cultivation of self-compassion and self-esteem.

As a therapist, Emily approaches her work with warmth, humility, and curiosity. She hopes to walk alongside clients as they move toward greater self-awareness, healing, and empowerment.

Meet Angelica Columbus - MA, RCC |

To meet someone new in a therapy room isn’t always easy — and yet, here you are. Angelica believes that while we may grow used to coping alone, we’re not meant to do it alone. Her approach is rooted in warmth, compassion, and deep respect for the courage it takes to reach out.

She works with clients navigating anxiety, overwhelm, substance use, and family challenges, offering a space to slow down and reconnect with the strength that’s already within. With a special focus on men’s mental health, particularly those working in trades and construction, Angelica is passionate about helping clients explore the burdens they carry and rediscover what it means to feel supported and seen.

If you’re ready to begin, we’d love to connect you with Angelica.

✨ New Group Beginning January 2026 ✨

Much of psychotherapy focuses on identifying and repairing what’s broken — unhelpful behaviours, painful emotions, and distorted thinking patterns. While these efforts are meaningful, they can sometimes overlook an equally vital question: How do we live well?

This 8-week virtual group, led by Master’s Level Clinical Intern Craig Bergen, draws inspiration from ancient Greco-Roman philosophy. This group will explore what thinkers like the Stoics, Epicureans, and other Hellenistic philosophers taught about cultivating serenity, wisdom, and resilience in the face of life’s unpredictability.

Together, we’ll reflect on timeless lessons and explore how to apply philosophical insights to modern life. Through guided discussion and reflection, participants will learn to approach daily challenges with greater calm, clarity, and purpose.

Details:
Wednesdays, 7:00–8:30PM

January 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, February 4th, 11th, 18th

Online via Zoom

$80 total - $10 per session

We are so thrilled to announce our new partnership with Harrison Communities!

We are bringing on-site counselling right into the heart of their community. Residents can now access compassionate, trauma-informed care with:

• A Registered Clinical Counsellor
• A Post-Graduate Clinical Fellow
• And a Master’s Level Clinical Intern

At Shoreline, we believe that mental health support should be rooted in connection, belonging and dignity. Partnering with Harrison Communities allows us to extend that vision and offer a space to meet people where they are, both literally and emotionally.

“When I am among the trees, especially willows and the honey locust, equally beech, the oaks and the pines, they give off hints of gladness. I would almost say that they save me, and daily.

I am so distant from the hope of myself, which I have goodness, and discernment, and never hurry through the world but walk slowly, and bow often.

Around me the trees stir in their leaves and call out, ‘Stay awhile.’The light flows from their branches.

And they call again, ‘It’s simple,’ they say, ‘and you too have come into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled with light, and to shine.’”

Meet Craig Bergen, Clinical Intern |

Craig brings a thoughtful blend of philosophy and therapy to his work, inviting clients to explore the meaning behind their thoughts, beliefs, and emotions. With a background in philosophy and training in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Craig gently asks questions like, “What does that mean?” and “How do you make sense of that?”, helping you notice how your thoughts shape your emotional world.

Craig believes that while examining our thoughts can spark change, true healing also comes from being present with pain and struggle, not rushing past it. His aim is to create a space where you can meet both your strengths and your suffering with curiosity and compassion.

With over a decade of experience in men’s residential treatment programs (addictions and corrections), Craig is passionate about men’s mental health, while also welcoming anyone seeking support as they navigate their unique life roles.

Sliding Scale: $40–$80/hr + GST
(Please note: sessions with interns are not eligible for insurance reimbursement.)
