As physio pros, one question we’re often asked is:
What would physiotherapy do for me anyway?
We’re very glad you asked :)
When you work with a physiotherapist, you will learn to make healthier lifestyle choices and work toward integrating physical activity into your everyday routine.
During your intake session, your physiotherapist will assess your physical condition. They may have you perform different exercises or stretches to gauge your range of mobility.
From there, you and your physiotherapist will identify your treatment goals, and what steps you’ll need to take to reach them. These goals may be geared toward strength training, flexibility, rehabilitation — or a combination of all three.
A good physiotherapist will create a program tailored to your needs and treatment goals. This program will outline what exercises and treatments will put you in the best position to achieve your health goals.
Throughout your sessions, your physiotherapist will continuously monitor your improvement, reassess your condition, and rework your treatment plan as your condition improves.
To sum up, physiotherapy helps you improve your mobility, strength, and flexibility — not to mention your quality of life!
And who doesn’t want that ;)
