MERRY CHRISTMAS from our Little Family to yours!

2025 Brief Recap:

Tony and I celebrated our 50th birthdays this year by flying to Montreal and Quebec City in June. I surprised Tony with tickets to the Canadian F1 Grand Prix. The race was incredible and his favourite team won! Then we toured Old Quebec City for the latter half of our trip. It truly is like walking around Europe with the cobblestone streets and historic buildings. Our favourite, the Fairmont Frontenac, was spectacular.

Tony continues to work with Fluor Canada Ltd. as a Senior Design Supervisor. They moved to another office downtown Vancouver called the “Stack” and it has the best gym (imo lol). This year his work held a 70s Glam Christmas Party and it was a blast!

This year brought a big change for me and my work. After 8 1/2 years I decided it was time to stop running my bootcamp business. It has been a highlight leading a fantastic group of dedicated people. I will miss them dearly but this new season has me working in many different capacities in fitness for the Township of Langley.

Derek completed his 3rd(ish) year in Business at SFU. Last summer he ran his own franchise with Student Works Painting and learned a lot about business that wasn’t in a classroom. Him and his girlfriend, Reese, have been dating for a couple of years and we love having her in our family. She is graduating from TWU next year with her BEd and continuing on towards her teaching practicum year.

Cassidy completed her first semester in English at SFU. She has fully embraced university life and it’s been fun watching her engage in campus activities with new friends. She has recently met someone special and we are enjoying getting to know Mattias. He is a second year at SFU and so far treats our girl like a true princess.

We hope this short recap finds your family in good health! We wish you a very special Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Downtown Day with Dad

Our annual dinner downtown with Dad and a visit to his office. I love this tradition. We’ve been doing it for many years and each time Derek still orders chicken tenders lol. 🐔

Tony has worked in a couple different buildings but this newest one is beautiful. It’s called “The Stack” and Fluor is on floors 7-10. It’s a fun trip to remember how hard Dad works for us and how much we appreciate him for it. 💕💕

Tomorrow we go home so we spent a very leisurely day strolling old Quebec, revisiting some favourite spots and taking in all the pretty buildings.

These are just a few of the quaint places I want a permanent spot in my feed. 💙🤍💙

LAST church I promise. 😁

There are so many cathedrals in Quebec but this one stands out. Basilica of Sainte-Anne-du-Beaupre is one of the largest pilgrimage cathedrals in North America. It sees over 1/2 million pilgrims a year.

Of course the pictures don’t capture the absolutely stunning details but you get a snapshot of the beauty.

This cathedral had little chapels all around the front that contained shrines for different saints. You’ll see Saint Patrick in photo #5.

In photo #8 it’s not lost on me that we were sitting in a McDonald’s for lunch with St. Anne’s in the background. Hey, it was close and we were hungry. 😆

After our tour of the cathedral we headed over the bridge to Ile D’Orleans. This is the most quaint and cute place with wineries, microbreweries, cheese makers, and ice cream shops. And, yes, we visited one of each of these. 🍷🍻🧀🍦

On our way home we got a quick drive-by glimpse of Montmorency Falls. Pretty spectacular even from afar.

J’aime Quebec!❤️

Old Quebec City Day 3💙🤍💙

If you saw my stories earlier it absolutely poured this morning! But it was short lived and we had a beautiful overcast but warm day.

1. We love going into churches and the Notre-Dame Basilica did not disappoint. This is the final resting place of Francois de Laval, the first Bishop of Quebec. I just absolutely love the intricate decor and the beautiful stained glass windows. And I’m particularly intrigued with the ambo aka the pulpit with the winding staircase.

2. Next we visited the Lower Old Town and La Petit Champlain. The stores are so cute and the Place Royale is the original location of the habitations of Samuel Champlain, founder of Quebec City.

3. I have never ridden a funicular until today! In fact I didn’t even know what it was. ☺️ It’s not powered by a steam engine anymore but the view is pretty cool from that vantage point!

4. We went on a self-guided tour of the underground’s of the old Saint Louis Fort/Chateau. This is underneath the current Dufferin Terrace and housed rooms like the scullery, kitchens, latrines and storage. Self-guided means I wait while Tony reads allllll the information boards. ☺️

5. I think poutine is my new favourite food group. 😉 Lastly, another beautiful pic of Chateau Frontenac at night.

Tomorrow we leave the walls of Old Quebec and drive to Ile D’Orleans!

FIRST full day in Quebec 🍁

There is so much to see and do in Old Quebec so we just started and we’ll see what we all get done!

1. First, we love to get a little nerdy and do the tours of the really old stuff. So we did a guided tour of the Fortifications of Quebec. This included the Dufferin Terrace outside of Chateau Frontenac. Then we walked to the active military base at the Citadel and went inside one of the walls (lots of canons). We saw the historic Plains of Abraham and then all three gates that lead into the old city. We ended our tour at the Artillery. Our lovely tour guide, Catherine, did an amazing job and answered all of Tony’s questions. ☺️

2. Next we went in the famous Fairmont Chateau Frontenac. We climbed the stairs to the highest window possible (Gold Floor 18) and the picture of the St. Lawrence below is the view. I lost count of how many stairs we climbed. 😂

3. Then we walked along the Dufferin Terrace until we got to the Governor’s Promenade. 310 steps to the end which takes you to the Plains of Abraham along the cliffs below the citadel.

4. As always, we ended our day at a restaurant either on the patio or by an open window. Cheers! 🍻

Father’s Day 2025🏁

Father’s Day looked a little different this year. ☺️ Tony and I spent the weekend at the F1 Grand Prix du Canada in Montreal. Yesterday was Race Day and a dream come true for our favourite guy!

Not only did Mercedes win two podium spots but we walked the track afterwards to the start line and George Russell’s P1 car spot. It was incredible to be there in person and experience all the race cheering with thousands of F1 fans.

We ended the day back in old Montreal with crepes at Chez Suzette’s.

Au revoir Montreal! You were spectacular. ❤️❤️

FULL day in Downtown Montreal

Since we’re here for the F1 Race we only have one full day to explore downtown Montreal so we made sure to see as much as we could. 22,000 steps later and I think we covered some good ground. 😊

Photos 1-10:
Basilique-Cathedrale Marie-Reine-du-Monde and Basilique Notre-Dame de Montreal - both were just stunning!

Photos 11-20:
Rue Saint-Paul - beautiful old Montreal on cobblestone. The poutine was as good as it looks! 😋
