Devotion isn’t always neat, traditional, or easy to explain, especially when it comes to Loki.

There’s a lot of misinformation out there about him. Loki is often reduced to chaos, deceit, or mischief alone but that’s only one layer of a much deeper presence. Historically, Loki exists in the old Norse texts like the Poetic Edda and Prose Edda as a complex, shape-shifting force: a boundary-walker, a disruptor of stagnation, and at times, a necessary catalyst for change among the Gods.

Devotion to Loki doesn’t mean inviting destruction, it means honoring transformation. It means acknowledging the uncomfortable truths, the shadow work, the humor in dark places, and the intelligence in disruption. He challenges, yes, but he also reveals.

Today, I’m offering candy 🍬 Why candy? Well, PYRA brought some for Him today so that was the first sign.

Because Loki has long been associated (in modern devotional practice and personal gnosis) with things that are playful, indulgent, and a little unexpected. Sweet offerings like candy reflect his trickster nature, his love of surprise, and his connection to joy woven through chaos. There’s also something symbolic about sugar: quick energy, quick shifts etc much like Loki himself.

Devotion doesn’t have to look like ancient rituals alone. It can be personal, intuitive, evolving.

is an illustrator of strange recollections.
She was raised by birds many moons ago and lives in the hollow of a twisted old elm tree with her cats Walter and Wyrm.

She illustrates for books, bands, and for herself. Birdie sells her work on her website, at select stores (Phoenix Rising is one of said stores) and at in-person markets. She also runs a secret club on Patreon where you can get monthly prints and stickers.

Our Story

Crystals, minerals, hard to find ingredients, oddities and rare gems hiding in every nook and corner of the shoppe are the reason why this little shoppe is in fact an Emporium.

Our mission is to create a beautiful learning and healing environment both in personal and spiritual growth, for people in our community through the neighboring communities by helping people to empower themselves and BURN BRIGHT.

We decided in 2015 to take our market business and open an actual brick and mortar shoppe; a unique place where people could connect with like-minded individuals in a safe and respectful space. While growing up in very separate worlds, we didn’t have a place like this and we always felt that something was missing. Our initial vision was to be the premiere Metaphysical shoppe in B.C. that offers a spiritual sanctuary of knowledge, respect, trust and love for people from all walks of life. Since our grand opening in December 2015, our little shoppe has quickly become a hub for people of all kinds and we now support over 70 (edit; it is now 90 in October 2018) local artists.
